Thanks RR for posting that, it answers
the question of whether CTR was baptized or
not.

hi friends.. i was just cleaning out my old book bag, and found a letter to the body of elders about beards, and a pqr form ( personal qualifications report ).
that's the form the c.os and elders use for regular pioneers who are being recommended for substitute or regular circuit work.
my scanners down, but i will have it back up soon.
Yes! I would like to see the scanned letter.

i hope this works since i have little ability to correct the links with the restricted editing.
this is braeburn road san diego, ca.. would someone confirm which house is beth sarim.
is it the last house on the north side of the road just before the bend?
Thirdson,
Good photo reconnaissance! Where did you get the picture?
Yes, that is Beth Sarim! You can see the driveway leading
to the seperate detached garage.
You can also see the "turret" in the middle of the house,
with the two "wings" of the house going off at a slight angle.
And someone has over the years added a pool in the back yard.
(which there is not much of, as the house is right on the
edge of a steep canyon slope)

i hated growing up as a witness.
i hated the boring ass meetings where you could hear a pin drop on the floor, i hated going door to door and i hated not being normal like the other kids.. but the one thing i liked was going to the assemlies at the oakland coliseum.
i would wander around and find other kids to goof around with.
PASTRAMI SANDWICHES!!!
I want one now!

Hi Amazing,
No wonder the Watchtower does not mention anything about
Russell being baptised! If CTR was indeed baptised as a
Congregationalist, and if he felt no need to be baptised again
after leaving his former religious affiliations, then why do
people now have to baptised again when they become a witness?
Actually, the answer is obvious, today the WT considers
baptisim as the formal and legal arrangement by which people join
the membership of Jehovah's Witnesses. The members of which are then
obliged to follow and believe without question every doctrine put
forth by the controlling rulers in Brooklyn!
Baptisim is the basis for control over the people!
To Will Power,
I think "self baptism" is not allowed, even Jesus had John baptised
him in the Jordan river.

In everything that I have read about CTR, no year of
baptisim is ever given, so one would wonder if he was
ever baptised at all.
This would be an interesting fact to bring up when talking
to JWs.

here is the response my friend got from the wtbts.
in her original letter she respectfully stated her questions about 1914 and poured her heart out about her concerns on other doctrinal issues.
she sincerely requested help and wrote about feeling torn by the contradictions she had come accross in her personal study.
The "Questions From the Readers" article leaves out one very
important policy that the Watchtower has towards letters sent
to them from JWs, in many instances they SEND a copy of the letter
to the elders of the letter sender's congregation!!!!!
This is why they want the sender's name and address.
Copies of your letters to Brooklyn will end up in your
congregational file!
....but, of course, they are not going to mention anything
about this policy.

i have just found the title of a science fiction .
organized shunning in a society.
a brief description from the internet of this .
I have just found the title of a science fiction
story written by Robert Silverberg that is about
organized shunning in a society.
A brief description from the internet of this
story follows:
------------------------------
To See the Invisible Man (1962)
by Robert Silverberg
As punishment for his antisocial behavior, a man is sentenced to a year of invisibilty. People can still see him, but they are required by law to have nothing to do with him--no conversation, no contact, nothing. There is a fun side to being invisible--he goes to movies for free, walks into women's locker rooms, and so on, but doctors are not exempt from the law, so when he gets sick, no one will treat him. An interesting concept, this modern version of shunning, though it's hard to see how doctors could reconcile it with their Hippocratic Oath.
------
Sounds like WT shunning policy taken to the extreme!

I wonder what sections were left out in the "abridged" version of the book, and what was the reason for leaving them out.
