i just read in the 11/1/03 wt an article entitled cultivate a giving spirit.

never have i seen the society so unashamedly extend its hands in search of more money.

i'm going to let the article speak for itself.

WHAT??!!!!

This is the ONLY piece of literature they will mail out to people.

If you mail a letter requesting literature thru the mail, the Watchtower response is that publications are not available by mail, and that you must visit a local congregation to obtain what you want.

But....What the WATCHTOWER wants from you is your $$$$, so they will mail the contribution brochure directly to you!

if so please disregard as i'm sometimes way behind everyone else and think i've found some new and great thing just to learn that everybody else already knows about it.

it's a well documented encounter a gentleman had with a witness on the telephone who must have been so horrified by what she learned that she never called him back like she was suppose to.

Long ago, in the 1930s I believe, some Witnesses (who then were mostly of the annoited) would write each other letters and sign then in closing with "Your fellow locust"

Then they got away from saying that.

Now they are back saying it?

i am goint to post the link to two articles i have been reading on the watchtower sight.

the first is about tithing and the second is about accepting blood.

at first i was irritated by their condemnation of tithing in other churches, when we all know the truth of their money management and collection.

Consider the following. In 1879 the editors of this magazine stated openly that they would "never beg nor petition men for support."

Doesn't the Watchtower run an article once a year on "Organized" giving of money and valuables to the Organization?
