from time to time we like to share some good reads with each other on jwd, and now might be a good time to share with you what i'm reading this week.
it's "the gate" by francois bizot which tells of his experiences as the only western prisoner to survive the khmer rouge in cambodia.
in 1971, on a routine outing through the cambodian countryside, the young french ethnologist francois bizot is captured by the khmer rouge.

does anyone know who did the research and wrote the "appendix to chapter 14" in the book, let your kingdom come?.
this is the only place where the wts tried to refute the research coj published in his book, the gentile times reconsidered.. coj's book is not mentioned directly in the appendix!
obvioiusly, as the wt would prefer that people not even know coj's book exists!.
Hi RR,
You are right, COJ sent Brooklyn the manuscript of his research sometime in the late 70s, or very early 80s.
The Watchtower does NOT want people to do research in Biblical chronology, and they came down hard on him.
Lloyd Barry is said to have written the main text of the Kingdom Come book, but someone else has been said to have written the Appendix. I am curious what background the author of the Appendex has.

here is another paradox resulting from the wts stand on the flood:
1. jws seriously believe in 2370 bc as the date of the flood
2. they also believe that by the 1st century ad racial differences had been well developed (i mean differences in the outward appearance of course, and not their early racist views for instance).
I highly doubt a Koala bear (or a few hundred of them) would swim across an ocean to get to Australia
The Watchtower (or it might have been an Awake!) had an answer for this....land bridges, which have since sunk below the sea waters.
Ah, it is so easy to speculate about biological/geological/physical matters when they just sit at their desks and write about what they know not.
No wonder the WT once wrote that "it is not necessary for one to do heavy research, there are brothers at Bethel who do the research for you"!
Yeah, who wants to trust one-sided, incomplete, inaccurate research done only with a view to promote Watchtower propaganda?

historians and scientists agree: the egyptian pyramids were built between 2500 - 2100 bc.
we even have some astronomical evendence that this is true: http://www.robertbauval.com/articles/gpdating.html.
jws teach that:the flood occured at 2370 bcestimates that the tower of babel was constructed around 2189 bcjoseph was sold into slavery 1750 bc (eventually to eygpt, already established as a world power).

interview with mark palo: molested by gb member.
okay my friends, here we go with another blockbuster on the sexual indecencies that the watchtower big boys have covered up for years.
thanks also to kent for his pages, check these out:.
Some reports have stated Greenless was sent to a congregation far away from Bethel, San Diego being one place mentioned.
Checking the Social Security records, we find:
Leo K. Greenless,
Born 06 Jun 1911, Died 17 Feb 1988, Last Residence Zip Code 11201, (Brooklyn, Kings, NY) Social Security No. 081-44-5620
Did he move back to Brooklyn? Or did he never inform Social Security of his new address?
He was removed from the Governing Body in 1985, at age 74, well past retirement age, did he collect Social Security? If not, that would explain why SS records would not have his last address.
And, if he didn't collect Social Security, what was his source of income? The Governing Body Pension Plan?

the doctor examines the patient and prescribes a powerfully effective medicine.. the pharmacist dispenses the medication according to the prescription.. the patient takes the medicine according to the label directions.. the above is a three step process.
easy analogy to understand.
we've all had to visit the doctor and get medicine at one time or another.. now i want to examine this process and use the analogy as a model for understanding how the governing body dispenses "truth" from jehovah to the congregations of jehovah's witnesses as his mouthpiece and "prophetic" voice.. in the 1950's doctors began prescribing a medicine called thalidomide.
hi Satanus,
When i read in ray franz' book how his uncle freddy controled the gb meetings
Where was that mentioned? In CoC?

Why, you might ask, did I list the "Judge's" books and booklets?
To show the vast output of material bearing his name.
In some years he wrote over a 1000 pages of material.
Some have said he had ghostwriters to help him, Fred Franz being one of them.
The question is, did Rutherford truly believe what he wrote? or was he a con man 100 per cent through and through?

i have recently obtained a copy of studies in the scriptures, series vi, "the new creation".
the copy i have is is very good condition.. opening it up, i see it is the 31,000 edition, 1905, and the publisher is listed as the watchtower bible and tract society of allegheny , pa.. but, charles taze russell name is absent on the title page!.
going through the book i find nowhere russell's name mentioned, let alone as being the author of the book.
Hi RR,
he requested that after his death that his name appear nowhere attached to his writings were they to be reprinted
So this edition I have was anonymously published as per CTR request, but did they continue to omit Russell's name on all the editions published after Russell died?
