Glaring Mistake In RNWT And Todays WT
by piztjw intodays' wt had this sentence in one of the paragraphs....we know this because each of their individual names are indelibly written upon the 12 foundation stones of the heavenly new jerusalem.rev.
21:14.. the cross reference lists judas iscariot as one of the twelve.
so with one breath they have said judas was cursed as jesus betrayer, and yet in their rnwt they still cross reference him in the list of the twelve named foundation stones of nj.

So done with expectations and waiting for 'when it happens'...
by Bruja-del-Sol inok, i haven't introduced myself properly.
sorry for that, but i just never feel like i've got something really interesting to say.

Hey I know how you feel. It's hard because our whole lives we jussed time waiting for paradise and magic. Now comes living happily in this one real life. Do you have any hobbies or causes you care about. For me getting involved in a local volunteer group that helps marine life was big. Find a way to give back to the world. Find a hobby that you can do every day or every few days. Something you look forward to and enjoy.
Small suggestion that can't fix anything. But I know how you feel. Hang in there.

When David and Bathsheba sinned, instead of punishing them, god STRUCK the baby and after suffering for a week it died. God CAUSED that one in an unfair punishment on an innocent child.

The tower of Babel- full of holes?
by highdose ini was thinking the other day about the tower of babel ( like you do) somthing that always puzzled me about reading the account in our modern day times is that we have today buildings that would have been vastly taller than the tower of babel.
even if purely because the materials needed to build modern sky scrapers have to be light in order to acheive that height.
accient heavy bricks just wouldn't have done it.. just why was god so threatened by a building???

Great thread. one if the things that woke me up. The new WT has the chart that shows 100 years from the flood to the Tower of Babel. Crazy.
Also, the part about there being nothing they can't accomplish is explained as this meaning metaphorically nothing as far as badness and moral corruption. Which tries to explain away the fact that a tower isn't that amazing. But does nothing for explaining gods interference in man governing himself. Also, supposedly Nimrod started a few cities. Not just Babel, according to the Insight book. Wackadoo.

My Story Part One....My mother's wild hair.
by Giordano inmy mother had a wild hair one day and decided to study with the jw's.
so after being a catholic for my first 12 years we were now apostates............ though neither she nor i realized it at the time.. i think what appealed to my mother was that the two sisters she studied with were very 'refined' they were also nicely dressed and very 'clean'.
i had no idea what the hell she was talking about.

Experiences: CAA needs to emotionally vomit... catharsis... release ... etc.
by confusedandalone inok, so i have been on this journey for about a year or so.
i feel like i am no longer a part of this whacked out religion, however at the same time after spending so many years in it there have been a huge array of things that have happened to me that i feel i need to talk about.
not because they will help anyone who reads them, not because they are the slightest bit interesting, but because i can no longer keep them bottled up and expect to move on.. alot of things i have experienced hurt me deeply... although i was able to move forward with my life these things tend to hang around in my mind because i have never been able to tell anyone outside of my wife.

The last two posts are great examples of how to exchange differences productively.
CandA I get how you felt. I've felt that way before. The guilt you are straddled with outweighs Everything.
