  Any explanation from the WT as to why Adam and Eve did not have sex before they sinned? (and other Genesis stumpers)

  (disclaimer- i know this is all fairy tales but i like to pick genesis apart since many millions still take it literally and is the foundtion of jw doctrine.

  without genesis being real, the whole thing collpses).

  i was just reading through genesis yesterday, and it really hit me.

  I used to wonder if the final test after a thousand years would be making the choice each one of us to go back to dumb innocence and lose our ability to see reasoning and right and wrong.

  Great points. The same ones I thought about over and over prior to waking up!

  I couldn't figure out why god talked to Cain. According to WT god didn't like Cain and saw his heart was bad. God liked Abel and his heart was good. But, god spent time chatting up Cain instead of Abel. I'm sure Abel could have used a warning not to go hiking with his brother. Instead god doesn't warn him and does warn Cain. Then god protects Cain... So strange. Free will doesn't explain it. Because he talked to Cain! He warned Cain. That's interfering in free will. He SHOULD have warned Abel!

  Did Satan Sin

  i have been thinking about basic theology a lot and the more i think about it the more rediculous it sounds.. so adam and eve died from a small sin of eating a piece of fruit.

  if sin causes death why is satan not dead?

  why didnt adam and eve die that very day like god said?

  Does god have free will? Most Christians would say yes.

  Can god sin or do bad? Most Christians would say no.

  if we are made in gods image then why can't we have free will but not be capable of sin?

  The thought that I believed this is crazy... So swords hadn't been invented in Eden, but the bible says a flaming sword blocked the way to the garden. If that is a symbolic sword then what else is not literal? Sadly JWs would shun you for asking that question.

  i would love to start a discussion (not a debate) with others that follow the gnostic writings from the nag hammadi library.

  i am a believer that pretty much every belief has some truths and fallacies.

  some say its a game of 'only taking what you like out of something'.....i say, its using discernment to find the 'pure nature' of what god would be and is.

  Welcome Jesse! It's really nice to have you. My parents and sibling are still JW. I was for 36 years of my life. I left last year after realizing that it was all based on lies. I know the fear and guilt can be hard to deal with. But take courage. You have your life ahead if you. :) if I might suggest, can you find a way to give back to humanity through volunteering in a non religious way? I find that has been very soothing for me.

  Lars got banned because he was an admitted drug user who posted here when high. He would spout off about being Jesus and make the wildest claims. While I found it humorous, I remember the problem Being that he was crazy and new visitors could have been scared away.

  He regularly posted about crack abuse and being a gay, cross dressing, Diana Ross song singing, black Jesus Christ. Which is all fine and dandy, and to each his own. But, the worry became that he was turning the site into a circus and destroying its mission to help exiting and exited JWs.

  Lars is a crack smoking crazy man who thinks he is the messiah. All that from his own admission. If you read all his posts you would know he was not a scholar. Lol

  now Leolaia is a true scholar. Wish I could meet her.

  Why doesn't Jehovah just destroy Satan and the demons then leave humanity alone?

  did you ever wonder that as a jw?.

  if all the trouble on this planet is down to satan and the demons, why not just get rid of them and then leave humankind alone and see how we go from there?

  wouldn't a god who "is love" (1 john 4:8) full of mercy and justice at least try that first?

  redvip I get that... But, again its hugely important to me that god won't have answered that question when he brings armageddon and abysses Satan. He will have just said, "I had to step in here because I can tell that although crime is dropping and science is eliminating deseases and improving lives, they were about to accidently kill themselves".

  However, whatever happened for the last 6,000 years all happened with demonic and satanic influence and under the evil spirits control. Remember the boblical account says Eve was told she would gain knowledge and be able to decide for herself right and wrong. So WT says the original couple decided to go it on their own and not gods way. Okay, fine... But, they didn't really ever get to do it their way did they? They had demonic possesion, demonic materialization and copulation, they had demons teaching them magic and running worldly governments according to the WT.

  So they never answered the question...
