The experience that changed my life

i have been lurking for a long time here and i think i'm prepared to speak about this experience openly.. .

i was born in a jw family and i grew up as the average jehovah's witness does.

even being very young, i helped with the territories and other work in the congregation.

I KNOW you did what you should have. Honestly, you don't know why that card was not signed... Your mom might not have signed it because she didn't want to or because she was undecided or torn. It was HER responsibility to sign it. To take that liberty and forge a name would have been morally wrong. What if she knows as a JW that she should say no to blood, but she hadn't fully decided whether to sign the card or not? On top of that, she is instructed to have it on her at all times. This makes me think it's even more likely that she may have had doubts. If you had immorally forged her signature and she died, you would have chosen something for her that only she had the right to decide.

That elder was morally and criminally WRONG.

Welcome to the site, and please think about this from a coldly logical stand point. It was her responsibility before her god to prepare that card. NOT YOURS. You did right.

When did the Last Days start in the first century

i've been reading coc and rf highlights that luke 21:28 says: "but as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.".

i'm thinking on how no one who saw the start of these things is alive from 1914. as a comparison point, does anyone know when the wt suggests the last days started in the first century?.

was it when jesus said the above?.

Right, but see Acts 1:16-19.

Luke says it was called field of blood because of all the blood that fell on it when Judas "burst open" after falling...

I just am making the point that one of them is wrong.

One says he threw the money to the priests and they purchased the field and it was called field of blood since it was blood money.

The other says Judas fell a huge distance and landed so hard he burst open and his blood poured on the field, so it was called field of blood.

which is right?

Why does Luke describe Judas death and the difference of the name of the field Judas bought? If he is so accurate?

after learning from my former husband tha i am disfellowshipped, he writes the following: .

fb true friend: "xxxxx with tears in my eyes i will be deleting you but i want you as my sister again.

the whole jeremiah book is an abomination, but a point in this week's study exceeded even its usual standards of inanity.. from page 144, paragraph 10:.

in our day, god continues to show loving-kindness in ways that directly benefit his worshippers.

consider the matter of prayer.

An yes, but maybe the answer to rodent overpopulation will be in the new scrolls. We can trust Jesus to be ale to control animals.

I was talking with a JW I've known a long time and the topic of da new order came up. She mentioned how nice it will be when all animals are at peace. I asked why they had camouflage and defensive and offensive weapons if they were to always get along? She just looked at my like my head was on fire. I said, you know that scripture could be symbolic. She didn't like that at all. I said, do really think snakes will eat dirt? She looked at me like my head was on fire again and said OF COURSE!

I asked my parents out of curiosity. They too think snakes will eat dirt in the new order. /facepalm
