  Office Building larger than Noah's Ark

  this three story office building has more square footage than noah's ark did.. do you think it is big enough to hold all the "kinds" of land animals along with enough food for them to last a year?.

  could you fit all the animals from a small zoo in it, and expect them to live in it for a year?.

  I think jgnat meant that just as kids realize Hansel and Gretel is a fairy tale but like it despite its scary and horrible plot lines, some might think of Noah's ark the same way. They get that it's not real, and if had been real it would be horrible, but because they view it as a fairy tale they like it..

  but, I don't mean to speak for her, that's just what I think she meant.

  After 2000 years since JC was executed ,why have we heard not a whisper from GOD ALMIGHTY ?

  he/she had no problem talking to adam and eve ,though they were sinners in his/her sight .throughout the hebrew sriptures, ot, he /she had no problem communicating with fallen man ,imperfect humans , to dictate his will to his subjects by means of prophets , male and female ,according to the bible , the old testament ,the hebrew scriptures , god communicated not once ,not twice ,not even thrice ,but dozens of times during the first 4000 years of human history according to the bible.. why has this god been so silent these past 2000 years ,when their have been atrocities above the scale of anything that has ever been seen these past 6000 years of human existence .. oh you may say that the atrocities were not committed by god they were committed by man.

  fair enough .but god intervened in human affairs in such smaller infringements.

  with prophets or so the bible says.. the so called apostacy after the last of the apostles , the influence of satan in the world ,( or was that after 1914 ,) and the 2000 year gap when christ was supposed to return ,never mind about all the crap that went before it .. the fact remains we have never heard from god ,any god, or even" a " god, with either his/her approval or disapproval of events good or bad these past 2000 years... smiddy.

  Rubbish.

  Mr Freeze made a truly great point. One I was not ready for in the past, but that I think is logical and well put.

  God said in the bible he wants all to be saved. In the past he made himself known with smoke, lightning, manna, angels, voices, and signs. If a true manifestation of himself was made, billions would act. He could positively change the fate of billions. Why wouldn't he want to help the entire earth? Books written long ago that science is casting doubt upon or downright proving wrong are not a reasonable and meaningful way to speak to the people on the earth today.

  Why wouldn't god manifest himself in a concrete way to us today?

  Help needed: JC standards/questions for "Drunkenness"

  i'm hoping those of you in the jwn community may be able to help me out.

  an acquaintance (of legal drinking age) may soon be sitting for jc under the charge of "drunkenness".. to those of you who have direct experience either serving on a jc, or being the subject of a jc related to the misuse of alcohol:.

  - could you provide a list of questions that were asked of the accused?.

  I don't have the questions answered for you, but some advice on principle I can offer.

  It will be important to stress that he always had his thinking faculties and was NOT drunk. He can apologize for offending someone and apologize for stumbling someone. That would go a long way toward being seen as humble and trying to make it right.

  If it were me, I would say I had a couple drinks but was not drunk.

  They will ask if he passed out. Hopefully, the answer is no.

  Ray I respect your work and you as a person. I have a serious question I wonder about. The flood is one of the things that ruins the bible for me. Because NT writers mention the flood and Jesus himself did according to gospels. If it was not real and global, I don't understand Jesus mentioning of it and use of it as an example. How do you reconcile this?

  WT says they didn't have ALL the animals. Just a few of each species and then adaptation did the rest. In 4,000 yrs... Then migrated to every single continent and most islands in that time frame. They adapted to the huge diversity we see today... Hahahahahahahaha

  Does your Theology Align with Reality?

  thesits are fond of reminding us that science cannot prove there is no god, and in this they are correct.

  however, science should not be dismissed so lightly by anybody who values a faith that is more than a mere fantasy.. theologians like john shelby spong have shown the intellectual honesty to embrace the truths that science has discovered and adapted their religious beliefs to take account of reality.

  sadly many theists lack the courage to do likewise.
