  What does the word love mean to you?

  i mean maybe must be the most overly used word in the dictionary.

  my kid went out to play today and as he left the door he said " love you" and i loved that.

  but only yesterday i said i would " love" a cup of coffee.. yea we use the word " love" so often.

  Are GB problems increasing or is it just better communication

  i was just wondering the other day if the gb problems are getting bigger (e.g law suites, financial, scandals)or is it just a case of they have always been entangled in some kind of drama, but with communication been what it is, it's now a lot easier to find out about them more quickly.

  i am feeling so emotional right now.

  crazy doctrines aside, these child abuse cover-ups are horrendous.

  add them together and i feel like there is a churning black hole sucking the souls out of these children.. now, i realize there are boys who were abused as well, but i get this overwhelming feeling that girls/women are simply not valued and/or taken seriously or accused of being liars or demonic or, even worse, viewed as a harlot, whore, or temptress in the majority of situations, no matter the age or the brutality of the rape.

  A year ago or more, I posted our story on silentlambs but could not bring myself to make it public as I would need permission from my daughter...and she wants to drop it. Sad that a victim just wants to shove it under the rug because then life can go on "as normal" in jw-land.

  Love means...opening your inner heart to accept others as they are, no matter what their beliefs or history. And Love means honestly loving yourself, faults and all, so that you can learn to Love others. Easier said than done, I know, but it's my goal.

  We do overuse the word love out of habit, as I think our electronic society has encouraged us to conform to the norm rather than "use our words". :)

  We Enjoy our cup of coffee or a meal...we Love our children and our family and hopefully, Life.

  We Appreciate someone's abilities to paint, cook a fine meal, or tell a great story.

  Perhaps we should watch more closely what words we choose to use?

  my mother has been through a lot in her life, some bad before the truth, then following through during and after.

  almost all of which she never shared with me until the past few months when i had to have my questions answered to get past the events i was stuck on.

  i feel i am aging in years every month now, and was curious as to why.

  CO is chasing me . Meeting him tomorrow.

  this week is the "special week", co is back.. he phone called me this morning asking to meet together.. i replied "i don't refuse people who want talking to me, but my condition is that you must be alone, and we meet in public space.".

  he agreed and we will meet tomorrow in a cafe.. .

  this week he already met with my wife in the kh, and he told her "i believe your housband is apostate !!

Only tell him information that you're comfortable sharing that won't get you df'd, unless you don't care about being df'd.

  Please be polite and caring and thank him for his time, it will be the best course of action and he won't be able to act on anything if you are being reasonable.

  It's understandable that you want to "call him out" and be rude but remember, you were once as blind as he.

  Perhaps if you are Calm, Cheerful, Courteous and Smiling - it will help him see that "aspostates" are not lunatics as he preaches.

  Help him to see TTATT by being just a lovely human being. Help HIM get out by planting seeds of doubt just by your calm personality.

  Otherwise it's just playing his game.

  just starting this thread because i really want to reach out and hear stories from lgbt witnesses both former and current.

  i myself am a african american lesbian and i was raised indirectly as a 3rd generation jehovah's witness, and my parents know about my sexuality.

  i dont know if i'd get a good response here, (i thought about going to a more private forum on this website) but i'd think i'd get the better response here.

  just dont know when i'm gonna be able to do that.. right now, i am working full time, i go to school part time, etc.

  i want to start traveling more, doing more activist work, visiting more apostate friends, and helping to get people out of this 'so called religion.'.

  in other words, i want to start going to un-preach where the need is great.
