  hi folks:.

  i've been lurking here all summer and i finally decided to take the plunge and join you all.. i'm a single, 53 y/o black woman living in the nyc metro area (usa).

  i was brought up around jws:mom's mom, mom and my favorite auntie were all in.

  Where Are You on The Witno Scale?

  1 - still think it's the truth ...came to this site cause danger is your middle name.. 2 - concerned, smoething's amiss but still believe.

  3 - 98% sure it's bs, but still go for / with family.

  4 - anger / denial, inactive with minimal attendance (ie memorial, spec talk etc).

  Why I hate Tuesdays

  all throughout my life tuesdays were my meeting nights.

  well tuesdays and thursdays to be more precise, when we had book study but book study was at my house so it wasn't terrible.

  anyways as a kid i hated coming home from school, doing homework and then going to the meetings.

  that same question applies to catholics, jews, islamists, baptists and so on.

  just because you belong to a religion, does it mean you espouse every idea that they have ever presented?.

  I think most jdubs go along because they really don't know how to live without the structural confines of the bOrg club. It's not important to them to understand--but they need to Belong.

  so last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.

  she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.

  what do i do?!!!!!.

  Apog...if the US govt passed a law that everyone must display the US flag on July 4 each year, do you honestly think every kingdumb hall would have one without protest? Seriously? No one is saying it's flag worship, but just the act of deliberately displaying a country's flag to celebrate or honor a specific occasion goes absolutely contrary to everything we were taught while in the clutches of the bOrg.
