Deck the Kingdom Halls
by sparrowdown ini have discovered why the gb-rinch canceled christmas.
(apart from them being fun-sucking assholes and "christ" is in the name.).
the christmas carol deck the halls clearly gives the command to:.

Let's not forget that all-important nonlogical jdub teaching that birthday celebrations result in death.
So, nooooo, you cannot possibly commemorate the most important things in life...like the creation of new people!

I missed this when posted but O.M.G. Is there no end to their lunacy?
The jdubs will focus on comments such as "all our 80,000 properties are managed by volunteers" and think, wow that's so cool, we must be god's chosen people because we use volunteers!
They totally miss the important fact that they worship a real estate developer.

No words
by mikeypants inso, i'm visiting family this week who are all jws.
yesterday, it started with one of them talking about a co giving her some points on time keeping for service.
she is now writing a letter before she drives to service, so she can count her drive time.

As a rule, the piousneer trust fund elderettes got first crack at all the outlying territory maps.
The poor regular pio girls who had to work for a living got stuck with all the territories close to the hall and in the shady parts of town.
Feel the love?

Re Hostage victims killed in Sydney: "dont worry, at least they will NOW get a ressurection"
by stuckinarut2 inso most would now know of the vile act in sydney last week where a man held hostage over 17 people in the lindt cafe in the middle of sydney.. two people were murdered...a beautiful, educated lawyer, loving mother of three, and a brave, loving young man working as the cafe manager.. this senseless and cruel act has touched everyone deeply, especially in the communities of sydney.
the outpouring of grief and support for the victims and their families has been immense.. i was therefore outraged to have the following comment made by a witness in conversation at the kingdom hall:.
"well, we dont need to be sad, because at least now they (the two victims) will get a ressurection.

The problem with jdubbies becoming mass murderers, other than the deaths of all those now slated for pandadise, is that the dubbies have then shot themselves in the foot. Now they don't qualify, so it's a win-lose situation. So only "worldly" ones can murder to gain eternal life.

If Your JW Parent Died Would YOU Go To The Kingdom Hall For The Talk?
by minimus ini would like your thoughts, please..

Hard to say, not having a parent ever in the bOrg. I think it could prove to be a really difficult time for those who've left as the jdubs (sorry if this offends) are so phony in their platitudes. Grief is tough enough without dealing with that.

New forum 'parousia' is upon us! (software version)
by Simon inthe time has nearly come to switch over to the new forum software.
of course it's not completely finished yet (and never will be) but i think it's good enough to go live with and probably already better than the current one.
i'll give you a quick overview of what to expect and post more detail about the changeover process later.. cloud platform.

Why must we APPLY for everything?
by Tech49 ini was thinking about this today, after seeing another thread on the subject of serving in israel, of all places.
there have been many comments on the recent thread, and the ones a little older, about how utterly ridiculous that premise is.. the bigger question is why do i have to apply?
permission?

can an unhappy married woman vent?
by sowhatnow ini continue to be saddened by the fact that i am married to such a selfish man.. i want to know if i am the only wife who has no say when it comes to using the house she lives in for activities including other people.. .
let me explain.. yesterday my daugher who is 35 got a new puppy for my grandaughter who is 13. today my daughter and son in law are going to help my uncle at a job, and my granddaughter wanted to spend the day here, my daugher said shed bring her and the puppy over, i laughed and said 'your dad wont have that, ill have to go to your house'.. after all it will 'upset' the 2 cats they will hide all day [like they do anytime someone including my grandchild is in my home] .. i already knew that he would not like it if she brought the puppy over, [weve had dogs so its not like he hates them].
he doesnt care if his grandaughter would have enjoyed playing with the puppy over grandmas house, where she likes to be for a change, and that fact that id like to see what my cats would do when they saw a dog for the first time in thier lives.. maybe id have liked to play with the puppy .. when i said to my husband that my daughter said she wanted tp bring them over he said.

I was in a bad relationship many moons ago and continually vented about the boyfriend to my best friend. I think I wanted her to be as mad at him as me and to condemn him so I would somehow feel better. Eventually, she was a good enough friend to tell me that I needed to stop complaining and make a decision. She was right. I was allowing myself to be stuck in a rut because I was too scared to take the first step in changing things.
Change is hard and it can be scary. But the alternative is to stay stuck and miserable. So perhaps it would be good for you to start writing an action plan of how to improve your life. After all, it sounds as if he's not going to change and if he makes everyone else miserable, you have no duty to be his doormat. Instead of seeing all the reasons you can't get out, try inventing ways that you can. Lots of good advice about jobs and opening your own bank account, and I know there is something you're good at that might help you connect with a job. Think outside the box. Maybe learn medical transcription or something else you can do from home. Don't worry about the car, it's going to have the same mileage whether you stay or you go.
The worst that can happen is that you will be in the same position thus time next year. And you've got this large group of folks here for support!
