  So they've removed the powerful DOs...now they've stripped more power from the eldubs...and who are the new masters? → COs ←

  While I'm sure the intent is to shield the wts coffers from lawsuits and hang the COs out to dry...I don't think the COs will see it that way. Anyone who's on a jw power trip will now see the CO position as gold...their own little kingdom over which they have massive control.

  If there were this many massive changes (plus the anointed gb = fds) in any public corporation, the stock would have plummeted and the news analysts would be all over this story.

  What a soap-opera turn of events...

  DD - I started getting "those" looks and cooler treatment from my jw roommate. It's the borg juice relentlessly being poured into them at mtgs...like the recent sisters' mini-play titled "Why Is It Proper To Report Wrongdoing?"

  This divisive nonsense is pushed on them so much, they don't realize they are living in a police state. The only was to help them snap out of it is to get the relationship out of the borg's hands and back into yours...do something unexpected, tell her you appreciate how understanding she is about how tired you are (and mean it). Don't make anything about your relationship be about the borg, make it be all about the Two of You. It's the only way to break through and build up that connection that will help you get her Out.

  how can i cut down without going teetotal?

  i love the taste of wine, i'm not fussed with other drinks but just need to rein in it a bit.. going wine-free tonight and tomorrow, as i'm out socially.. i also need to shift a few pounds.. thank you, everyone..

  Here's a good rule...don't bring it into the house. If you only allow yourself a glass when out with friends, you'll enjoy it more and buy it less.

  Idol Worship

  young boys couldn't have posters of sports stars because that was idolatry.

  young girls couldn't have posters of their favorite rock band, same reason.. however, as "pioneers" we were told to memorize the names of the governing body members and the names of the wts presidents.

  The bethel bros performing in the sign language videos are treated like Hollywood stars in the signing congregations. People actually drive to any town within a few hours drive to see them give a talk. Halls empty out because everyone has left to go do what? Idolize the film stars...

  Elders in one cong buying breast implants for their wives...and the wives encouraging others to do the same. Idolize the sex objects...

  So much hypocrisy, so many still stuck in. So senseless.

  my sister recently went back to the witness religion and has a precious 4 year old boy.

  he is the most adorable little boy, as all children are at that age.

  i respect my sisters decision to go back to the religion, i cringe and don't like it but it's her decision to make.

  We were given that scenario back in the late 90s in a talk given by an ex-bethel bro. Except back then, we would be climbing the mountains to get away from government troops or something.

  Now that no one has ever actually come after the jws, they are just training them to jump through hoops like little dogs at a circus to maintain CONTROL.

  now that enough time has passed and i've moved away, i think i'm overdue to share some of the stories from my fade.

  i've mentioned some of this before, but i think it deserves its own thread.. we all would like to be able to freely ask questions about jw beliefs and get our family and friends to really think about certain questions.

  however, when you're a baptized jw, you really can't ask any good questions or you'll get the "apostate" label slapped on you!
