  well, it has come to another fork in the road.

  i have been going to other meetings and skipping more.

  car groups and two bros tried stopping by my house recently but i was not home or gates were locked.

  Ditto the excellent advice here. IT IS A CULT! You don't owe them anything, least of all your address, phone number, or life...and certainly not the lives of your children. Do not da, it's playing by THEIR game rules, which they made up. Your sense of integrity should never have you cast your pearls before them, as those making up and enforcing the rules are the swine.

  Learning Spanish

  has anyone used rosetta stone for learning a language?

  now that i'm living in sw florida i deal with a lot of spanish speaking people and would love to learn the basics.

  my problem is that there are so many different levels with rosetta stone, starting about $100.00 to over $300.00.. any advice would be appreciated.. happydad.

  Duolingo offers free online courses in Spanish and several other languages. My daughter used it to become conversationally fluent in Spanish and she recommends it.

  so this is the ultimate dilemma.

  my wife and i are on the same page.

  do we fade, in which all our friends, and i stress friends call us and feel sick and hurt and hurt and we feel guilty; or do we da so we tell the wt what we see as wrong as what we see that lead us to believe its a false religion; or do we df and let me or my wife let them catch us at some wrong doing and stop going to meetigs..... .

  Jon, I see things in creation which make me think of a creator, yet I see so much about the world, humans, and religions which make me think otherwise. So I'm undecided but not actively searching for a structured belief.

  And of course the wt/gb LIE about atheists, the same as they LIE about apostates!!!

  Would You Become A JW Again If Local Congregations Could Become Independent?

  for those who still believe in god, if local congregations could break away from the watchtower would you consider becoming a witness again.

  this would mean no more governing body, circuit overseers, watchtower magazines, and each congregation could have its own "new light".

  most of us left because of the control (no college, disfellowsipping) but if the watchtower was out of the picture, all of this would disappear.
