I guess the restrictions are to let you know that you are not off the hook yet, you can now fellowship with the congregation and be prayed for etc but your forgivness will come in stages. They need to make sure they have made the right decision and the restrictions keep you a "marked" person. They are just an extenstion of the punishment.

I was a JW through the 80s and it was common knowledge that MJ was a JW, I got told off for buying the "bad" album since rumour had it that he had become an ex-jw, this was just a rumour to start off with however, by about 1988 we all understood him to be disd and speaking about him became taboo.
MJ is not a well known child molester. The accusations against him have not been proven. He may be a well known victim of false allegations for all we know. Either way, nothing is proven at this point.
