American Idol
by Mulan inanyone watch it last night?.
i am really starting to love constantine.
he just gets better and better.. carrie is so consistent, and so good, that i think she is going to win this, but constantine is right up there too.. i also really like anthony fedorov.. i like bo, but think the judges are a little "over the top" about him.

Anwar was voted off, his vocals outshone that Anthony guy and Scott and Constantine. Vocally Bo is the strongest guy now and Vonzel the best female. Too bad for Anwar, he sang too many slow songs. It appears cut and dried, Carrie/Bo/Const are going to be the top 3.

"Shadow people" with "green eyes"? okaaay. I think they are products of vertile imaginations, but if people choose to believe this stuff then that is their perogative.

Vonzel is by far the best female vocalist, has been from the beginning. Carrie is a pretty package and will prolly beat Vonzel in the voting. It looks as if one of the rockers is going to win though! Everyone seems to rave over constantine, he aint a bad singer but he aint a great one either. Bo has stronger vocals. Anyhows, Vonzel I want to win, but she wont.

Brummie, I have complete belief in Jesus as a perfect being and in Jehovah as his creator. Endure till the end?
Yes, what you believe today does not mean you will live accordingly to those beliefs for the next how many years. You may grow cold or become luke warm. Disobedience in this system of things can cause you to lose the way to eternal life. In the JW view, Jesus opened the way up for people of all nations to have the "prospect" of eternal life. The notion "I'm saved" is not a Biblical one but one that comes from Christendom = babylon the great. The Bible says "He that endures to the end is the one that will be saved". "Will be" is future tense, it is not a present reality.
What end? If I endure till the end do I get "Eternal Life"? Please explain to me.
"Endurance" is an ongoing process that will not be completed until death or until armaggedon. At the end of the 1000 yrs reign your endurance will be "finalised" You will then be able to live forever in paradise on earth. JW belief dictates that for the vast majority of mankind, true eternal life will not be realised until after the 1000 yr reign when the debil has been cast into the abyss and all things are made new.
I guess this has been of great help ;) jk

Shawn is lying if he says he knows Jesus, or atleast he has decieved himself into thinking he knows Jesus.
This is a common perception but since there is no way to prove either him or you wrong one cannot say that he doe or doesnt know Christ. I believe he does you believe he doesnt and thats ok either way. His experience is subjective to scrutiny and critisism but it is his experience and personal to him.
I can say confidently that I know Christ too, I am not a footstep follower but I know him. This is not a claim to exclusiveness since it is an "knowing" that has been shared by millions through the ages. It cant always be intelectualised or defined in an "abc" way. To the person who believes they have come to know christ, it would be lying for them to say they havent come to know him. For those who think such a person is deluded, then it would be wrong for them to pretend that they dont believe the person to be deluded. Neither really has to prove their point, infact, neither can.

"I prayed for you"
by Scully inif you aren't a "believer", does it bother you when someone says "i'll pray for you" or "i prayed for you"?.
one of my colleagues is an incredibly kind and sweet person, and i know she says it because she believes she's doing something good on my behalf.
i always say "thank you for thinking of me", because i know that's the spirit she's intending to convey and that she cares about the situation i'm in vis-a-vis my jw relatives, but she knows i no longer believe in god (at least not in the sense that she does) - i wonder does she think that a few prayers are going to change my mind?

On this board, when a tragedy strikes someone, everyone offering prayers/good wishes/thoughts of love doesn't seem out of order. At such a point, I decide not to worry about being politically correct and write from my heart.
Good! You can pray for me anytime! x x x
I can barely believe people find such a statement offensive or threatening in some way. The only time I can see it as being offensive is if, say, you broke a leg and someone came up and said "I'll pray for you", but didnt bother to help you get up offa the floor.

I am doing my FS. I am filling in my card. I am still going to Meeting and Study. I have been baptized now and living my life as the WTS says I should. Do I have "Everlasting Life" now? I was told all I needed was knowledge of Jehovah and Jesus. Man this is not what I was told at the begining but the FDS says that I need more hours. Will goiing to Bethel grant me "Eternal Life"?
I'll have to read the thread when I get chance, just to answer your last question, theres just one more teensy weensy thing you have to do to be saved....you have endure to the end.Brummie
