Watchtower Attorneys Stumped

today, october 6, in manchester tennessee the court considered the motion to dismiss petitioned by the watchtower bible and tract society in the case of anderson vs watchtower.

during the hearing for the first time ever the watchtower attorneys were stumped, at a loss for words, silence in the courtroom for what seemed like a 'millennium'.

stumped...............silent....................

It's great that Ed Bell is wanting to take calls from victims of the WTBTS. Also, other lawyers (Concerned Lawyer, etc.) who've shown an interest in helping us - and stopping the WTBTS. Thanks to all!

Congratulations to all involved for getting THIS far.............will be anxiously awaiting 30 days from now. Too bad we won't know the outcome before coming to see Steve!

The WTBTS will be seen for what it is - a destructive cult which hurts people - perhaps this time!

I hope Barb & Joe sleep easier knowing that they have lawyers capable of stumping the WTBTS - or at least making them shut up.

Congratulations to the Lawyers (for Andersons) & the legal minds which make up their teams!

Please donate through this vehicle only. As you might imagine, if Vicki starts receiving cheques that have to be paid through her personal accounts it may be difficult for her in the event that a credit check is made, that is why the money will arrive when Vicki wants it and via a torturous route.
NOT ONE PENNY of your money will be given to the WTS or any other body for that matter!

How sweet of the *we* people! Yes..........I AM going to receive my musical gift - and I hope others take advantage of this opportunity to give and receive....and prove to the WTBTS than we are helping each other in all ways.

Seems too that this could have been overlooked at the discretion of the judge, but in her uhummm, wisdom decided not too. So the WTBTS took full advantage and will demand payment of costs.

That's why all the letter writing to politicians and media and the rest so we can express our concern at the absurdity of this law, and point out that it doesn't suit all cases, especially a VICTIM of sexual abuse who just happened to win her case.

That's my understanding too. I hope Vicki checks with a Bankruptcy Attorney to see what can be done - or not done to help her.

aborting all the baby girls

60 minutes tonight, special on aborting all the baby girls in india, it has become an epidemic so severe they have placed a ban on tests that predetermine the childs sex.

now women are going underground to find out the sex of the child and abort it if it is a female.

this has caused an imbalance in the population and men are having a difficult time finding wives.

For ME (not necessarily YOU) it is tough to feel much sympathy for a culture that is taking away our jobs.

As to the women torched for lack of bride money................

Think about it.......the woman would have to be contained somehow - or else she'd run out of the house screaming, rolling on the ground, jumping in water. But somehow she dies near her cooking fire. Where are the people who lit her up as a human bonfire? Most likely watching and containing her.

I feel NO sympathy for a culture that does this to women - I feel outrage. I feel extreme sympathy for the women.

The jobs that are taken over by India persons (at least from what I've read) are more technical jobs, or jobs which the person speaks English (as in the phone reps we end up talking to). Those aren't the poor people of India, the farmers using acid to mutilate women.

Reports of the women being killed regularily by torching and the acid dousings are generally poorer people - per the news reports.

hello this is my first post and i wanted to introduce myself so here goes.. my name is lainey, and i have not been to the meetings for about 4 years now.. i am 28 and work as a doctor in a big city university hospital as a sho.. also for my sins, i am cassies little sis, and i am staying with him for a little while, as i am signed off sick for the next month with a stress related disorder.. after the death of my older bro and my dad within the past few months, i started suffering from terrible nightmares, most of them connected in some way to my witness upbringing.. me and cassie have talked for some length and he suggested that i spend some time having a look on this site and meeting others who have had similar issues to face in life.. i hope you are all are better listeners than cassie, who tends to fall asleep when i am in the middle of talking to him.

I didn't know about this. Gruesome crimes.

Women have always been an easy target - particularily "among the poor and uneducated." Throw in religion...and it gets worse sometimes. Children too.

In China? Baby girls have been left "on the other side of the hill" for centuries. Little value, another mouth to feed and a dowry. Girls move away & get married. Sons will help the family more. When it came down to having only two children......many parents didn't want to *waste* a child just for a female.

I didn't know about India. What a horrible shame. And such a horrible way to die. What? Do the in-laws just sit around and watch the female scream and burn to death?

As for the acid victims........I can't imagine the pain - for the rest of their lives.

Nice to *see* you again - so glad you came back to visit. There's a great deal of information on this latest satanic deed by the WTBTS. (was going to say dastardly - but it sounded like Dudley DoRight.)

I've got 3 more sets to send out today. Hope you join me! The following is not for you - but I found out the guy working for me didn't have a clue how to do all this. (I was a secretary for years -It's really not that hard, if you get set up for it.)

Envelope Stuffing 101

Print letters out.

Print attachments out. Put letter in front of attachments.

Either print addresses on computer labels or have someone else write them for you. Last resort, take half hour & DIY (do it yourself) Glass of wine helps pass the time.

Get an assembly line going - it is faster. Sign all letters first. Fold all. Stuff all. Seal all with scotchtape. Attach stamps to all. Double check all sealed/stamped.

From SC, usa - it costs $.60 to mail to Canada (and there are $.60 stamps).

If following only Expatbrit's & Scully's addresses - about $9.00 for each set from SC.

Any of us would buy Vicki lunch if she were with us.........well, buy her our voice in outrage.
