the good looking guy is my oldest son nathan, her daddy.

i already know how some of you will answer.
i realize that some dear friends here have lost their spouse due to their jw "awakening", but for those of you where both of you are now out, do you feel you are a better husband or wife because of the experience?
even if your spouse is still in, do you feel you are a better husband/wife?

As for my husband and me? We were married around 20 yrs as jw's. We left together - thank goodness. We helped support each other - and stood as a united front against jw family. It helped tremendously.
My 3 kids left before us - and I'll forever be thankful that they were so kind to us when we learned the truth about The Truth. They gave us room to rant, rave, learn & re-adjust as free people.
As for my relationship with my husband? Better than before - and it was good before. We're just free now - big difference. We're also not so resentful of each other - as it's hard trying to fulfill false rolls that the WTBTS forced upon us.
We can be just people now. How refreshing.
i recently attended a witness get-together and found that despite my fake hours and lack of nearly all meeting attendance,.
i had no trouble 'blending in' - even with committed elders.
i'm not a social genius by any reckoning - but a smile, a few jokes,.
The best revenge is to live a happy life.
I agree with that - which goes along with what ol' Met is preaching - show your happiness.
True, they may talk about you behind your back (and many jw's do just that) - but the happy person has shown proof that leaving the WT organization doesn't automatically cause deep depression.
And that's a powerful, unspoken, statement to closed minded jw's who would never listen to apostate statements.

veronica was born to proud parents (yourschelbie and me) at 8:30 a.m. this past saturday morning, january 3rd.
she weighed in at almost 7 pounds (3.15 kg) , and is 18 inches (46 cm) long.
we're all doing fine.
Veronica is soooooooooo daintily sized! Awe.................my girl was little, but my boys were 3 month size when they popped into this world (10.11 lbs...now 6'4")
Congratulations of all in your growing family! And it's great, Gopher, that you're so proud of your daughter & wife.

This is such an interesting lie! All ANY person has to do is look at the posters on any xjw forum - and read the arguments, the deletions, the bashings of other xjw's.....and it's painfully obvious that we are not united........hell, we can't even get along with each other, let alone get a following "making disciples" for ourselves.

Someone made the point that this will keep some deaf, dumb, & blind jw's from searching. True.....but they wouldn't search anyway if they don't want to.
AlanF made such a good point some time ago - no jw leaves the WT organization until something affects them on a PERSONAL level. It could be a teaching....but it effects THEM. And then the jw is willing to ease the blinders off enough to look past their blind faith.
It's up to the jw to make their choice to look. The evidence is everywhere.....JW'S ARE IN THE WT CULT. Just look.

Welcome to our forum! As for your husband? I'm sure he doesn't understand.....he wasn't raised in a cult-like environment most likely. You were. Therefore, you most likely still have emotional ties/questions/negative vibes.

I really think it is vitial that cases such as the Anderson case of Tennessee be put on as well as the cases that are going on in California, Las Vegas and Oregon.
I'm assuming papers have come to you defining the principles involved in the Anderson case - which, I believe, is now in the info gathering stage.
The fact that Anderson and 3 other persons were df'd (and Anderson publicly branded a grevious sinner in the news by the WTBTS) for speaking outloud about the secret WT child abuse problem - within one week before Dateline aired WT dirty laundry.....well, that's no little thing.
The fact that the Tennessee court felt there was enough info to allow the Anderson case to go forward - well, that's a big thing.
Under everything else......the Anderson case is about child abuse coverup. She was punished for speaking about the WT child abuse coverup. The WT branded her.
Rev. 18:5 "For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, ..."
Babylon the Great, the Mother of all harlots, the WTBTS - standing in the place of desolation, taking the place of Jesus Christ.
Of course, that's just my opinion.

i can remember, when ever wraping gifts for weddings baby showers etc always making sure not to wrap the ribbon in the tradidional "cross" design.
we always either wrapped the corners only or just stuck a bow on it.. it was extreemely rare to see someone bring a gift wrapped in a cross ribbon.. anyone else remember back that far?.
is that practice still going on to this day?

Now that's one I've not heard of. When I came in (1970) - no one put names on the gifts, so that if someone couldn't give a more expensive gift - no one would know it. In spirit, not a bad idea when there's a public display of gifts (showers & weddings).
This fell to the wayside over the years & names were signed (and read out aloud). I still went with the old way - but it made it worse because then the receiver would say "who gave this gift?" And would keep it up, until I raised my hand. It brought the reverse, more attention, so I started signing my name.
Then the CO's talk sometime later about going back to the old custom of not signing names. Go figure.
But for the crossed ribbon? Naaaaaaaaa, sounds like a local thing - like the Smurf's.
Btw........love to wrap gifts. Big ribbons, big bows, dried flowers if I have them, etc. Great fun! lol - and I'm the only one in my family who likes to do it. So on the receiving end? Bags.
