If you call the DPI, they will acknowledge via the phone that the WTBTS was an NGO from 1992 to 2001..

My guess is the JW's are afraid that if they start giving their names out to people when going door-to-door that the people can track them down and do a reverse harrass against them.. :-)

It also may be nothing more than the WTBTS's only way back into court to try and plead their case...

Finally, since the scope is sooo limited, maybe what needs to be shown is that the name is a good thing.. I personally think it is myself.. I want to see their permit and name badge, just like I ask when the utility company guy shows up at my door to see his badge..

For that matter, how easy would it be to just create a false document stating they are registered with the city? I think a picture ID with a name would be better, just like all the utility companies and such have to put the public's mind at ease that they really are who they say they are!!!!

I would argue that the anonymity ends when a real live warm-blooded human being shows up at my door... At that point, I have every right to ask that persons name, where they are from, who they represent, and what they want... And, if they don't answer those questions, the door gets slammed in their face!!!!

They can anonymously drop magazines at my doorstep, but that's about it..

UN vs WT -It doesn't matter

does anybody honestly think that all this exposure about the wtb&ts and the un really going to matter much in the jw community?

sure, it matters to us, since we already know the truth about the wt.

but it won't even make a dent in the jw population.

I really don't know what it is going to have on the JW population.. I'm sure some will question it, some will ignore it, some it will light a spark that may take years to germinate into anything, and some will deny the whole thing and others this may be the final straw..

But, I think it's just as important to try and get the information out there so the average person knows exactly what JW's are, so they won't get sucked into their 'slavery' in the first place...

I think it's a two-front operation..

Try and save as many JW's as possible, and at the same time, try to protect the general public from the Watchtower society..

as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

Actually Fred has a good idea..

Call the WTBTS and have them put you on the mailing list.. After all, they are registered as a non-profit and the publications are free. As far as I know, free means free in the US.. You cannot discriminate because of Race, Religion, Sexual preference etc.. etc.. etc..

If they refuse to send you a free subscription, I think that would tend to disprove their 'free' claim, and may have legal implications of tax status here in the states.. Plus, that refusal would be based on what? Religious discrimination?

But, I'm not 100% sure of that.. Just a thought <G>..

Hi Fred, I'm actually doing you guys a favor.. I wouldn't want the WTBTS to be hypocrits.. Claim tax-exempt status while in reality not following the proper secular laws, in which case, they would be breaking Jehovah's commandment to follow secular authorities..

See Fred, I do care about your spirituality!!! I don't want you guys to be destroyed at Armageddon..

And, also I know how big you guys are on religious freedom. I certainly wouldn't want you to suffer Jehovah's wrath because you don't practice what you preach!!!

Of course, as always, the choice to be destroyed at Armageddon or not is yours... Isn't it wonderful the choices that Jehovah has given you?

Maybe all the JW's should dissasociate themselves..

After all, the JW's believe that the parents are responsible for their children, and if the parents stray and lose their religion, Jehovah will also destroy their children..

Well, the spiritual food was tainted by the GB, but they consider the organization "mother" so doesn't that mean that all JW's will be destroyed now?

Wouldn't that also mean that the children, in order to save themselves, must 'leave' their parents as the bible says?

If nothing else, because of what the GB did, it is quite safe to say that the link between Jehovah and his "earthly channel of communication" has been corrupted and is no longer working.. Therefor, is there even an organization any longer? The GB has tainted the flock, and even the remainder of the F&DS not on the GB had to follow this tainted food (even if they did not reveal to their flock what they were doing, it still happened, just like they believe about the parents and children stuff).. So, even the rest of the F&DS have now become corrupt in Jehovah's eye. Jehovah has certainly taken favor from them for this one!!!!

flash - major breaking!!!!!!!.

i just talked to paul hoeffel 1:35pm - he phoned me.. okay people.

i can now confirm that the watchtower has provided a letter in writing to dpi indicating that the wts has "disassociated" themselves from dpi - ie the wts has made it offical that they have quit.. i can also confirm that the wts has been updating dpi regularily as they are suppose to over the last 10 years.. i can also can say that something is in the works that i can disclose by hopeflly tomorrow.

Later this week I'll be taking a trip to the UN specifically to pick up as many copies of the NGO list with the Watchtower in them as I can..

I'll keep ya posted if I can obtain any...
