Certainly I was when I joined, in many ways. I had a love for God and felt it was incomplete, but sure - I was very insecure, and quite easily frightened.

Christadelphian
by Billy1000 inmy name is stephen and i am new to the forum.
i am a christadelphian and through my discussions with fellow members of my ecclesia it has inspired me to reach out to other religions to find out exactly what others believe to enhance my own faith and further bring me closer to our heavenly father.
in no way do i mean disrespect if it has been caused.

Bonsai,
Of course I will recommend what I have found to be useful - don't we all - but as a removal of fear with no strings attached. Do not confuse it with the manner of fear-inducing religions.
I doubt your "friends in heaven" have any room for a racist (insert colorful word here) like you.
That slander should be beneath you - I an not racist.

Acts5v29
Good afternoon Billy,
By the way, I'm not really trying to start a new religion, nor to explain Revelation (Chinese whispers)
It was once believed that when a person is part of the "right" religion you get a free pass to whatever blessing you believe to be coming
I do not think this way, more Christ says three things to get eternal life.
Love thy God
Love Thy neighbour as thyself
Repent and be baptised
I believe whatever the religion if you do these things you will be given the blessings through the grace and mercy of God
I think where I differ from you is in the view of what the issue is. Many religions say they can help us get personal salvation, but I believe the issue is far greater than that. As for our ultimate salvation, I think we're in good hands if we trust our Friends in the Heavens.

Good morning Billy,
No offence taken on my part - it's good to hear talk of the scriptures.
Sadly I am not part of any religion, so I can't answer you. My own ministry - should it be a consideration for your journey - is rather simpler than yours and can be found at www.worshipJehovah.org (not associated with any religion)

What is the alternative to JWism? Searching on your own, without anyone telling you what to believe.
I couldn't agree more!

Acts5v29
Good morning Vanderhoven7,
Armageddon is history. There is no future battle of Armageddon.
I know some people have that view - and it is one way of countering the Pentecostalists and the watchtower - but a little examination of Revelation shows that the earthly events of the vision have not yet begun.
The 1st earthly event of the vision - that is the vision, not the letters to the congregations - is at Revelation 5:13:
13. And I heard every creature that is in heaven and on earth and beneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, saying:
"To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the praise and the honour and the glory and the might forever and ever."
That unanimous show of praise has not yet happened - it would have been noted in countries all over the world as indisputable had it done so.There has to be a reason why everyone - believers, atheists, the good and the bad, the believers in Christ and those who do not - would all give their thanks to both him and to his Father... that reason is God's intervention to save everyone alive, when the world's auhorities call for help. You can find this in the "Divine Rescue" text at www.worshipJehovah.org/divineRescue - not associated with an religion. -

Good morning Love UniHateExams,
Agree with Outlaw here.
and everyone - good or bad, believing in the intervention or not - will be rescued alive at God's intervention
At that moment, will God destroy the irreligious, the openly gay couples, the scientists that openly advocate evolution, the people addicted to alcohol/drugs/pornography, the militant atheists, etc.?
Your move ...
No, He won't. They will not be destroyed just as they see proof of Him, and everyone will be free to follow the Christ's direction thereafter or not.
The intervention is a turning-point in authority in the earth, when we finally begin our recovery - but it does not begin with a mass slaughter of this group and that.
Revelation - whose vision's events have not yet begun - will have to take place, and the war against Christ's authority and the slaughter associated with that are many events in the future.

Acts5v29
Perhaps the knowing look - while you felt like a spy - showed that he was also aware of the disreputable things which you know. The clumping together of the audience in the centre is herding, as if afraid of spreading. I don't know about the attendants, but their bright colours suggest clowns, while the feathers suggest the illusion of angels.
All amateur interpretation, I'm afraid, but I've had some very meaningful dreams in the past too.

I have doubts... can you help me??- A new idea
by HowTheBibleWasCreated ini have been perplexed as to how to brung my wife out of jws and to exit the religion... but i had an idea last night.
i know that elders will legitimantly meet with brothers who have doubts and encourage them... not df them .. this is a sheperding call etc.. thus since my wife knows i have doubt s i could say: i want to have two brother over to discuss this ... she will agree.... of course i will hit these guys with biblical textual issues, an biology to where they are stunned and still ask... "so brothers... can you solve this conflict...?".
in this case they will not think of me as an apostate but may question their own beliefs... .
-
Acts5v29
Forgive me - I misread your post when you spoke of being considered "apostate". If you sincerely do not believe, then I won't try to change your sincerity.
All the same, your unconfined manner must surely be noticed eventually, because there is something very un-natural, very claustrophobic in religions which tell one what to believe. People can't be in the company of someone who is normal without eventually noticing and wondering why they themselves do not feel that sense of freedom.

i wish this cult would just go away.

Acts5v29
Good afternoon GoingThroughTheMotions,
My very best wishes to you and yours!
You'll have noticed how much attitude there is - whether for God or for watchtower / catholic / Pentecostal / ... or against - its everywhere, and its sickening. I sometimes wonder how many people actually value what it real - perhaps that can be to your advantage.
Perhaps the more normal you are, the more your family will wonder at themselves, and feel that their life in the church is somehow twisted - not though Holy Spirit, but just twisted, warped. I've seen others do this, not needing to question those around them on scripture or anything, just letting their spirit show itself as healthy compared to those who remain in the church. In the end, it becomes painful to ignore the truth - they just mellow, bit by bit, and stop seeing you as a lost soul but as a calmer, saner, more content, less stressed-out person
