Mad Irishman,
If more people were kinder here they would try to have an intervention for those stuck in the cycle of this sort of thinking.
good point - sometimes the protective revulsion becomes a problem of its own
just as i think my loathing for the jw cult has peaked, it goes higher and higher.
i wish this cult would just go away.
i wish my wife would just wake up.

in your personal experience, do you think that the wt attracts needy types of people?
over the years, my experience is that they do attract very needy, insecure, dysfunctional, types.
i had an acquaintance that i just basically cut off.
Certainly I was when I joined, in many ways. I had a love for God and felt it was incomplete, but sure - I was very insecure, and quite easily frightened.
my name is stephen and i am new to the forum.
i am a christadelphian and through my discussions with fellow members of my ecclesia it has inspired me to reach out to other religions to find out exactly what others believe to enhance my own faith and further bring me closer to our heavenly father.
in no way do i mean disrespect if it has been caused.
Bonsai,
Of course I will recommend what I have found to be useful - don't we all - but as a removal of fear with no strings attached. Do not confuse it with the manner of fear-inducing religions.
I doubt your "friends in heaven" have any room for a racist (insert colorful word here) like you.
That slander should be beneath you - I an not racist.

Good afternoon Billy,
By the way, I'm not really trying to start a new religion, nor to explain Revelation (Chinese whispers)
It was once believed that when a person is part of the "right" religion you get a free pass to whatever blessing you believe to be coming
I do not think this way, more Christ says three things to get eternal life.
Love thy God
Love Thy neighbour as thyself
Repent and be baptised
I believe whatever the religion if you do these things you will be given the blessings through the grace and mercy of God
I think where I differ from you is in the view of what the issue is. Many religions say they can help us get personal salvation, but I believe the issue is far greater than that. As for our ultimate salvation, I think we're in good hands if we trust our Friends in the Heavens.

Good morning Billy,
No offence taken on my part - it's good to hear talk of the scriptures.
Sadly I am not part of any religion, so I can't answer you. My own ministry - should it be a consideration for your journey - is rather simpler than yours and can be found at www.worshipJehovah.org (not associated with any religion)
i mean this with all due respect, i would like to hear from genuine people who think jw have it wrong and then what is the truth?.
im not talking about silly little quibbles here and there.. is jehovah real?
the the bible is word?
Datadog...
What is the alternative to JWism? Searching on your own, without anyone telling you what to believe.
I couldn't agree more!

Good morning Vanderhoven7,
Armageddon is history. There is no future battle of Armageddon.
I know some people have that view - and it is one way of countering the Pentecostalists and the watchtower - but a little examination of Revelation shows that the earthly events of the vision have not yet begun.
The 1st earthly event of the vision - that is the vision, not the letters to the congregations - is at Revelation 5:13:
13. And I heard every creature that is in heaven and on earth and beneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, saying:
"To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the praise and the honour and the glory and the might forever and ever."

Good morning Love UniHateExams,
Agree with Outlaw here.
and everyone - good or bad, believing in the intervention or not - will be rescued alive at God's intervention
At that moment, will God destroy the irreligious, the openly gay couples, the scientists that openly advocate evolution, the people addicted to alcohol/drugs/pornography, the militant atheists, etc.?
Your move ...
No, He won't. They will not be destroyed just as they see proof of Him, and everyone will be free to follow the Christ's direction thereafter or not.
The intervention is a turning-point in authority in the earth, when we finally begin our recovery - but it does not begin with a mass slaughter of this group and that.
Revelation - whose vision's events have not yet begun - will have to take place, and the war against Christ's authority and the slaughter associated with that are many events in the future.
quick recap.
i'm 44, been df'd about a 10 months.
got baptized when i was 18, in and out of the borg for years due to guilt.
Perhaps the knowing look - while you felt like a spy - showed that he was also aware of the disreputable things which you know. The clumping together of the audience in the centre is herding, as if afraid of spreading. I don't know about the attendants, but their bright colours suggest clowns, while the feathers suggest the illusion of angels.
All amateur interpretation, I'm afraid, but I've had some very meaningful dreams in the past too.
i have been perplexed as to how to brung my wife out of jws and to exit the religion... but i had an idea last night.
i know that elders will legitimantly meet with brothers who have doubts and encourage them... not df them .. this is a sheperding call etc.. thus since my wife knows i have doubt s i could say: i want to have two brother over to discuss this ... she will agree.... of course i will hit these guys with biblical textual issues, an biology to where they are stunned and still ask... "so brothers... can you solve this conflict...?".
in this case they will not think of me as an apostate but may question their own beliefs... .
Forgive me - I misread your post when you spoke of being considered "apostate". If you sincerely do not believe, then I won't try to change your sincerity.
All the same, your unconfined manner must surely be noticed eventually, because there is something very un-natural, very claustrophobic in religions which tell one what to believe. People can't be in the company of someone who is normal without eventually noticing and wondering why they themselves do not feel that sense of freedom.
