Does anyone else find this strange?

there is a small threater(sp?

) downtown that is now owned by an elder and his wife.

the wife's dad is po of the congregation.. each week there is a country gospel group performing at the place.

Strange? not really,but I`m sure these 2 witnesses have convinced themselves that having gospel groups is in no way a conflict of interest . I knew a ministerial servant a few years back who was in the sign business ( he also did car pin-striping and graphics.He is now a circuit/district? overseer in the Toronto area) He was at a shop where I used to work and was doing a huge sign for a strip bar down town.This sign was fairly risque even for our lunch bucket town, it had the sillouette of 2 girls with great bodies in a really great pose! I asked him about it and he told me "it is just business and has nothing to do with how I feel about these places" I then asked him if he would be going into the bar to get paid. He said he might have to but only when the bar was not open. ( I guess Satan only goes there when the dancers are on stage, so he was probably safe) I then asked him how he would reply if the bar owner told other non-dubs about the great work this MS did and if the association with the bar owner bothered him. I was really grilling him about this because I too, thought it very strange . He did`nt like the questions because he flat out told me I was a big pain in the ass. To this day he reminds of Ned Flanders from the Simpsons, same moustache, same hair cut,same glasses, same stupid greetings......Howdy doodly neighbor. I still think if he got a lap dance at that bar he did the work at he would still be there with a fistful of 20$s.

i am going to green bay for the apostafest, and i don't have a passport.

should i get one even though i have plenty of canadian id???

Dottie, if you have any ID with a photo of yourself that should do,but a passport is much better.If you have a birth certificate bring that along to.

Just had visit from an elder...wine and cracker invite

about 30 minutes ago we had a visit by an elder.

of course it was to invite us to the memorial but the visit turned into an old rehash of issues that the wife and i have thought would not come up.i should mention that this particular elder came alone, while his wife waited in the car.i should also say that this elder is also the father and father-in-law of 2 regular posters on this board.because this elder knows of his daughters and son-in-laws stand towards the wbts it has caused a huge rift in the family.

my wife and i are dear friends of daughter and son-in-law and have been through thick and thin together.

About 30 minutes ago we had a visit by an elder. Of course it was to invite us to the Memorial but the visit turned into an old rehash of issues that the wife and I have thought would not come up.I should mention that this particular elder came alone, while his wife waited in the car.I should also say that this elder is also the father and father-in-law of 2 regular posters on this board.Because this elder knows of his daughters and son-in-laws stand towards the WBTS it has caused a huge rift in the family. My wife and I are dear friends of daughter and son-in-law and have been through thick and thin together. We don`t see them as much as we should but they are one of our closest friends. Its a sad situation because there are grand kids involved who because of the grandparents shunning do not see them. What a waste .

This elder starts in with the invite to the Memorial and you know how one thing leads to another. He asks if I have any desire to come back .I tell him that the bride and I are completely happy and have no desire to be part of that gig. I could hear the wife in the bathroom getting ready to go out and I knew she did not want to come out but I guess she had enough because she comes out and says to him " Your visit would carry way more weight if you would visit your OWN daughter and grandkids". This must have caught him off guard because he did`nt say much . I then told him that it just does not seem right that a family can be torn apart by an interpretation of the bible and that NOT having contact with your own flesh and blood is in my mind... unnatural. Unnatural may not be the right word but you get the gist. I then told him that I am quite sure that God would not strike him dead if he had a visit with his family . There are many more other issues that were brought up that are too complicated to get into but I just want to say what a waste of good family time this religion has caused.

And as I have said before, if God/WTBS expects us to shun family because of a different belief, then he/them are more narrow minded than I thought. Not only that but when Eve first bit into the fruit, free choice entered into the picture.

If God did`nt like the way things were going to pan out then he should have axed those two retards and got two more who could follow the rules! He is God for crissake! He should have foreseen this little problem ! He gave us the ability to make our own choices!

At any rate this elder was quite flustered and he did leave with tears in his eyes.

I am not proud of that. And please don`t post a whole pile of "Well he had it coming, and I`m glad you made him cry and do you know how much I have cried because of that religion"! stuff alright? I hate seeing people cry.

My good friend thought it was a bit odd that he did not show up with another elder in tandem,all I know is that we got to say our piece and he left with (hopefully) some things to think about. Any thoughts anyone?

i'll miss you.

I have always wondered why people make goodbye posts like this,if someone is that upset with the site then just go.Its quite simple really, just don`t logon anymore and don`t even visit the site.But we all know whenever someone makes a big exit like this they will ALWAYS come back and read all the replies of those telling them not to leave.If you wanna go just do it....

ive been looking at an interesting site by a woman who receives transmissions from aliens called the zeta.

apparently the world as we know it will end may 15th when planet nibiru / marduk passes so close to our earth that an apocalypse will occur.

it last passed by when the noachian flood occurred.

I personally know how Calamityjane and hubby do things,everything is done first rate and with the organization of a small army.These 2 are so organized it makes me and the bride sick! Hey you 2!hopefully we will be able to get together next week if my work schedule allows.By the way save some perogies for Mc. you know how much she likes them!! Love you both lots...
