2034 is going to be a huge letdown for the dubs

by wha happened? in

i've seen a few postings of a possible "next date" for dubs of 2034. based on an article they published comparing the last days to the days of noah.

preaching for 120 years.

however, i noticed a little tidbit from wiki about age:.

You spell something out in concrete unmistakeable terms,

saying people of an "age of understanding in 1914" would

definitely, without a doubt, see Armaggedon, and threaten

anyone who disagrees and later when it all proves to be untrue,

never apologize, never make any reparations and blame it all

on "misunderstanding" not the fault of the Society who wrote

hundreds of books and thousands of Watchtowers,for decades,

detailing in minute exhaustive detail this very doctrine. Then

when it proves tro be absolutely false, never admitting

to the mistake and false doctrine it really was,

instead you blame it on those you led around by the throat

and whose lives you wasted , that is the ongoing

methodology of the Watchtower.

Billy-Why Jewish ? Facts: only female mosquitoes suck blood, males do not.

Mainly mosquitoes live on nectar. Mosquitoes only live from 4 days to a week

or so. Most of them cannot fly higher than 25 feet off the ground. Oil on water

repels them. Mosquitoes can digest and destroy HIV virus, something worth study.

Islands with breezes don't have them, because they are blown away.

Why does anything poisonous exist ? Who knows ? I don't.

Oh thats right - someone said they are a food source -

Songbirds eat mosquitoes, we cut down forests and habitat,

and spray pesticides that kill mosquito eating insects

and then grow mono-crops and that kills insects, so that

kills songbirds, and deprives mosquito eaters of habitat,

and the mosquitoes take over. In the Ocean, we dump shit and

chemicals and acids, and toxic waste of all sorts and scrape

the bottom of the ocean with drag nets, killing deep water reefs,

and therefore food for krill and tiny creatures fish live on,

who now die out, because we killed the reefs, then the fish

are overfished, die out and the jellyfish take over

everywhere, because they live on the crap thats left, then we say.

Why did God make so many bloody jellyfish that sting us ??

The Truth of the Matter Is.......

Este - Eyes glazing over - end of what world? What does "world" mean to you ?

What does "end" mean ? Agree about what ? You mean a very narrow, limited to the

Watchtower view of 7 billion people about to die because they do not attend

the Kingdom Hall ? NO I do not believe that. And I was baptized in the 1950's

so I speak with some authority and confidence. The real question is why do YOU

believe the world is about to end ? Things are so much better than they used to be.

And there is so much more social awareness and universal participation, since

the internet. How can you ( I am assuming you are young ) be so pessimistic ??

I only wish I was in my 20's and could see the developments of the next 50 years.

And I AM a person of faith. Faith in all things bright and beautiful and Grace.

Believing in the "end of the world" is NOT a prerequisite for belief.

Faith is about: Hope, Love, Kindness, Joy. The Bible is about Salvation

and Renewal and being ONE with Christ and God and other people in a Spiritual

unity of love. It is not a doomsday book , it is a restoration book.

As the Old Awake used to say:

"Awake and let the Christ Shine upon you."

i had great sport reading this and applying the questions to the jw's.

"similarly, it is wise to examine religion carefully.

if you belong to a religious organization, you are, in effect, putting your spiritual life in its hands.

I was hoping ( for a few people I knew) God would wake them from the dead

and explain very clearly to them what horrible things they did to other people

and make it so they actually felt remorse equal to the suffering they caused

and then annihilate them.

Maybe Satan created all bad things. Can Satan created things?

The Bible says "All creation was subjected to futility"

In some kind of dysfunctional state until it gets corrected

somehow.?? Whether that means a paradise earth, or a changed

state of existance ?? I used to have all the answers, then I realized

I had no answers. I do not retain any belief in Watchtower doctrines.

Try to imagine you never read a Watchtower or went to a meeting,

and clear your head and start all over from the beginning, where

anything is possible. I am no longer in love with the paradise earth

concept either. But I do retain a strong feeling of the continuance

of consiousness, in some form and a belief that there is a higher

more joyful existance possible beyond death.

Irony of Ironies: THE WATCHTOWER WILL END LONG BEFORE THE WORLD DOES!

i was recently acquainted with the exhaustive - and blatantly inaccurate and crazy - theorizing by a "dr thomas", the "founder" of the christadelphians.. he was an earlier "contemporary" of chuck russell - and some have accused russell of "stealing" the christadelphians main teachings.

they're probably correct in their accusation.

christadelphians do not believe in the trinity or hellfire, are conscientious objectors who do not vote and who hate catholicism and are scathing in their views of christendom - although like all "decent" religious groups, jws included, have toned down their rabid attacks on other religious groups in recent decades.. dr thomas's quaint - and hilariously self-important - interpretation of scripture, led him on several occasions to predict the end of the world in his own day.

Religion encompasses many philosophies.

Since JW's predicted the "Fall of babylon the Great" since the 60's

Which JW books and Watchtowers described as the

"World Empire of False Religion", instead of disappearing,

as predicted, we saw the rise in America of the Mega-Church

with congregations of thousands, and certainly no lack of Hindus,

in India, The Sikhs are increasng in number, as are the Buddhists

and China is seeing a religious renewal in all religions as did Russia

when communism died there. American money still says In God We Trust.

The Queen is still head of the Anglican Church. If you want to know the

future read the Watchtower, except expect the exact opposite of whatever

they predict, they have never predicted ONE thing accurately.

JHWH is explained in the book of Exodus as "I am Who I am"

and it is clearly derived from the old Hebrew verb

HWH which means "to be."

The term "Jehovah" was introduced by Christian scholars.

It is merely JHWH pronounced with the vowel of Adonai,

thus making JeHoWaH. It is a hybrid and is not usually

used by Jews. Over the course of time, even the title Adonai

was regarded as too awesome to represent the four letters of God's name

and today most Orthodox Jews use [the term] HaShem,

which simply means "the Name."

God is spoken of as JHWH (pronounced Adonai)

Eloheynu, which means "the Lord our God."

It is notable that even today many Hebrew personal names

incorporate the names of God. Daniel, Michael, Elisha,

Israel, and Ezekiel are all built round El.

Elijah uses both El and JHWH while Adonijah grows

The word "Jehovah" comes from practice of writing YHVH in the Hebrew Bible

with the vowels of the Name "Adonai" (the usual substitute for YHVH)

on the consonants of YHVH to remind people not to pronounce YHVH as written.

A sixteenth century German Christian scribe, while transliterating

the Bible into Latin for the Pope, wrote the Name

out as it appeared in his texts, with the consonants of YHVH

and the vowels of Adonai, and came up with the word JeHoVaH,

and the name stuck.
