Coordinator ? I left so long ago I need an updated list of current Titles and terms, which I depend on you guys for. Why do I need this? So when I sneak into a meeting to try to find some poor lost soul I used to know, I will not frighten them by being to obviously apostate. Also I guess I should know what books are being used now, I am assuming the Revelation Book is no longer used because its just too weird and obviouly full of false predictions.

could this have something to do with the rumors about phasing out the nwt?

Honeybucket makes a good point about rich and prominent members
in a congregation being treated differently. I knew an elder named
David Hader in the Whittier congregation in California.
His daughters, especially the younger one, were wild and promiscuous.
Anyone who knew them knew the girls were going to nightclubs
and having sex with anyone they met and they were drunks.
He was a Dentist, very wealthy, lived in a mansion,
and was an elder and no matter what his younger daughter
did he just turned a blind eye. His older daughter got disfellowshipped, but he
never shunned her and his wife was only concerned about
her house and clothes and spending money, yet they all considered themselves model JW's.
Astounding. There was another couple in that congregation,
the elder dad, was an engineer and made good money and
his daughter confided in me that you will never get disfellowshipped
as long as you deny everything, which she did.
She had a baby out of wedlock but never got difellowshipped
because her father was an elder and had money - this is a true story.
But if someone was poor and alone, they would be disfellowshipped
and shunned for a tenth of what these wealthy well connected
young women did as a lifestyle with complete impunity.

I am going to read every Watchtower and Awake! magazine
by slimboyfat ini am not doing too well at the moment with my uc and am practically housebound.
so i have decided to do something productive and finally read all the magazines the society have ever published.
i remember greg stafford claiming that he has read all the watchtowers and thinking that was a good idea to get a real overview of the witnesses' history and development of theology and ideology.

For old literature, try university Theological Libraries, and believe it or not Libary of Congress, and Microfiche collections. Regents at UBC has a whole collection of Bible Students, Russell, and really ole WT magazines - not sure if they are available online

mP I think the message in the book of Jonah is we make our own destiny and outcome and we create our own misery and destruction and God is there, and changes things with us, as we change for the better. Its not a static universe, its flexible and expanding and growing in enlightenment and when we become aware we influence others to awareness and things become better instead of worse, and things like Armgeddon need never have to happen at all, that is what the Book of Jonah shows us.

Twitch : His work as you put it, is described in the book of Jonah. He was a Reluctant Prophet of Doom, and when Jehovah changed his mind about destroying the people of Ninevah he POUTED and SULKED under a shade plant ( much like you seem to be doing ) and Jehovah killed the plant that was shading him, and he was all upset and Jehovah said in effect,
'The plant you are worried about? What about all these people ? Thousands of them and animals, them your not worried about ? '
Jonah wanted to be "Right" more than anything, he did not want to be seen as wrong, or have to change his mind. A perfect example of the mindset of so many wittnesses who insist on being the only only ones who "get it right", never mind there are 2 billion Christians in the world.

The real nutty thing about this is the idea Jehovah has some "Time Schedule" like an egg timer that will "Go Off" and everything will go "Boom" like a time bomb that is ticking away.
Read the Book of Jonah, people. First; Jehovah swears up and down that he will destroy Ninevah and hauls Jonah out of a big fish to march up and down and preach destruction on everybody, and THEN what happens ??? read on : Jehovah sees that the people are becoming more enlightened, and he CHANGES HIS MIND BASED ON THE ACTIONS OF PEOPLE.
Jehovah is not OBSESSING over Biblical "time schedules" like they are trains running through Germany, Jehovah is observing and changing and rearranging and replanning, that is why Jesus said there would be " No sign except the sign of Jonah"
The sign of Jonah was this: Jehovah changes according to how we develop and seek justice and help one another and correct how the planet and the social and political systems are reflecting the will of God on Earth. Its not "Armageddon Cast in Stone".

How exactly did Jesus fulfill the law NOT the prophecies.
by mP intheres a clear difference between prophecies (predictions of future events) and laws(stuff you should and shouldnt do).. now since xians always says jesus fullfilled the law, how does one fullfill a bunch of requirements like dont murder, dont worship idols, shave your beard like this etc.. there are 613 laws in the torah, jewish rabbis have done all the hard work and we have a nice list on wiki.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/613_mitzvot.
im confused which of those some how select a unique individual to be the unique messiah ?
then again there were many messiahs, every king and priest of israel and judea was a messiah.

Jesus replaced the Law, because the law was about sin. Without the law there was no awareness of personal fault or sin, there could be self justication and making up rules as you go along, or rules that work for you but nobody else. No-one could ever keep the Law perfectly so it was a hopeless situation, where righteousness could never be achieved by sacrifices and attempting to keep the Law. The law was there to make us aware of our imperfection and inabilty to be perfect. Jesus introduced a New Covenant, of Grace and the hope of perfection through unity with God through Jesus Christ when the physical body is replaced by the spiritual body and everlasting life in a spiritual body.
