$75,000 Mansion is Willed to King David

When King David, slayer of Goliath, comes back to earth he will find

the $75,000 mansion of James [actually, Joseph] Rutherford awaiting him.
According to a deed recorded today, Rutherford wants King David to have the costly Spanish-type residence. If King David fails to claim the property Rutherford put in trust for him then Rutherford wants some other biblical character to get it.
[G]ideon, Barak, Samson, Jepthae, Joseph or Samuel were named as alternatives to King David.
The identity of these named as owners of the home are to be established by the International Bible Students’ Association and the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Rutherford is president of both organizations. Explaining his action, Rutherford said he momentarily expected the return to earth of famous figures of the Old Testament.
Rutherford formerly was a circuit judge in Missouri.
The New York Times (March 19, 1930) headlined:

I see it states he is still married to Mary Rutherford ? He was only 72 ?

He was living in the San Diego Mansion they built to house the Hebrew

Prophets who were supposed to be ressurrected to earth in 1925 according

to Millions Now Living Will Never Die, a pamphlet Rutherford wrote, and

then he spent millions building a huge Mansion for them and lived in it.

My decision about "family shunning"

since i've been off work this week because of spring break, i've really been missing my grandma.

when i have left wt (i'm fading and april will be 6 months) and i told her about january, she has been shunning me.

i told myself "i will respect her wishes/decision..etc" this morning i woke up and said "to hell with shunning!

i attended my first "worldly" funeral last saturday.

This is at the core of whats wrong with the whole WT teaching.

Our lives are supposed to be lived, not simply "waiting for the end"

but actively developing our talents. We are supposed to work whole souled

at whatever we find to do and rejoice and live abundantly. Life is not some miserable

waiting game of calculating dates, for 'when will this end' like a prison sentence.

Isn't it amazing how the rich JW's can do anything they please ??

And that goes for lesser unknowns with money as well.

I guess they save a fortune because the WT and JW's themselves

are not bothered by supporting any CHARITIES or helping

Widows and Ophans, or clothing and feeding the desperate and poor,

or building Hospitals and taking care of sick children,

or any of that "worldly" stuff.

i was reading the preface last night and shook my head over the ridiculousness of this.

how this ever became a religion is beyond me.

Russell probably did believe in some version of Christ and God

being one or as Jesus being the divine extension of Jehovah in physical form.

Remember Russell derived all his doctrines from the Millerite movement

and the Adventist movement peculiar to the US, in the late nineteenth century.

He was primarily and Egyptologist and a fanatic about chronology and

calculations and numbers and borrowed the "Plan of the Ages" from popular

street prophets and reactive groups who were formed in protest to conventional

churches at the time. It was a time of questioning everything and Russell saw

opportunity for his own personal promotion and he was a boring but prolific writer.

He was an egomaniac with visions of personal glory , like most founders of

those many American based religions and cult leaders. It was time of fear mongering

of upheaval, social, political and religious. The history of this time period shows all

the influences he copied.

Its about LOVE, God is LOVE, The fruit of
