I'm sure the legal, public relations and other depts. are all asking the GB how to handle this situation. And I'm convinced the GB is scratching it's head trying to decipher J's spirit direction in all of this. Should they really move on it...could get a lot worse if they do.... News agencies are always looking for a good story...

My aunt’s P.O. is doing an excellent job of looking after her. She’s 93, has no children, and still lives on her own. It’s amazing that, with all his duties as the presiding elder, he still manages to find time to even look after her financials. And we recently learned he now has power of attorney. He’s actually offered to move her in with his family. We’re extremely impressed with his loving attitude.
He has let it slip to a few brothers that she has a considerable amount of money but we’re convinced this has nothing to do with his interest in her affairs. Then again there are plenty of older ones in his congregation and she’s the only one he has insisted should move in with his family. Hmmm….

Wow, I can't understand why my JW training didn't kick in. I just can't believe that I didn't even stop to consider the legend might have a pagan origin. I could have passed it on and got into big trouble. I guess I've been out too long and have let down my origin-guard.
Thanks for all the comments, I've decided I need to reply and I think your ideas will be very usefull.

Jehovah will never let go of us. It's up to us not to let go of Jehovah. Some years ago on a hot summer day in south Florida a
little boy decided
to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his
house. In a hurry to
dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door,
leaving behind shoes,
socks, and shirt as he went.
He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam
toward the middle of
the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. His
mother in the
house was looking out the window saw the two as they got
closer and closer
together. In utter fear, she ran toward the water, yelling
to her son as
loudly as she could.
Hearing her voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-
turn to swim
to his mother. It was too late. Just as he reached her,
the alligator
reached him. From the dock, the mother grabbed her little boy by the arms
just as the
alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war
between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the mother,
but the mother
was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to
drive by, heard her
screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator.
Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little
boy survived.
His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of
the animal. On his
arms, were deep scratches where his mother's fingernails dug
into his flesh
in her effort to hang on to the son she loved.
The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma,
asked if
he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And
then, with
obvious pride, he said to the reporter, 'But look at my arms.I
have great
scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Mom wouldn't let go.'
You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars,
too. No, not
from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of
those scars are
unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some
wounds, my friend, are
because Jehovah has refused to let go. Inthe midst of your
struggle, He's
been there holding on to you. He wants to protect you and
provide for you
in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into
dangerous situations,
not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is
filled with peril
- and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the
tug-of-war begins- and if you have the scars of His love
on your arms be
very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go.
Please pass this on to those you love. You just never know where
a person
is in his/her life and what they are going through. Never
judge another
persons scars, because you don't know how they got them.
Right now, someone needs to know that Jehovah loves them,
and you love them
too ~~~~~ enough to not let them go.
You give but little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. -

Some If....you're probably are a J.W T's could be fun
Like "If you believe it's necessary to write down and report the time you spend talking about God you're probably a J.W"
"If you believe reading the Awake! magazine for several years gives you the equivalent of a college education you probably are a J.W."
"If you believe God's throwing Satan out of heaven had something to do with WW1 in 1914 you probably are a J.W."
"If you believe everyone needs to examine their beliefs but know you are forbidden to examine your own you probably are a J.W."

David Splane was a missionary in Africa - learned French - was sent by the WT to Quebec - served as CO - wowed the brothers by speaking without notes, talking in an intense voice, while looking everyone in the eye. He received his calling at the time everyone who was being called were being told by their elders that it was very unlikely God would pick some ordianary person to replace an unfaithful king/priest. Rumour had it that his wife was devastated that they would not be together in the NS. Not long after he was scooped up by headquarters.

If I had a grandkid I would get 2 t's made up - mine: I'M ANNOINTED - the kid's: I'M ANNOINTED TOO and underneath I'd have: WE'RE FROM THE SAME GENERATION printed on each shirt. Then I'd walk around at a DC and lead the WT security around the stadium. I think it would be great fun.

My advice:
1. Resign - if you really believe it's a cancer, how can you get on the stage or knock on a door wearing your JW suit? Don't you realise you're a hyprocrite and you're helping the cancer grow?
2. Continue your education - you won't regret having more but probably will regret having less (look at your boss's situation)
3. Ask your superior out - what's stopping you? Get to know her better. It's the JW mindset that has you believing you are inferior and she is out of your league.
4. Get moving - what are you waiting for? Are you planning on just piddling through life waiting for Armagueddon to work everything out for you. That's your old JW solution to everthing. One day, like all JW's, you're going to wake up an old man and it will be a lot sooner than you think
Finally... you have spent years preaching to others that they need to make changes in their lives. Change their beliefs, distance themselves from worldly parents, siblings, relatives and friends. And live with the consequences. Are you ready to practice what you preach?

Misery
IMO spending Friday night with an old bag is not good. You need to be out with someone hot. I think you're stuck in neutral. Get on with life. Resign as an elder. Get 'r done. Make plans to ask your boss out for a drink next Friday night. Give her a few days notice, so she can think about it if she needs to. If she dodges it politely don't be too upset...she may just feel it's inappropriate. Don't take it necessarily as being personal.
Remember however this could compromise your fade. There is always a JW around at the wrong time. If you feel you must play it safe, ask a few co-workers along as accusation protection.
But if you are feeling adventurous just prepare a good story in case you are seen. It shouldn't be difficult to find an excuse. After all, she's your boss.
Just my take on the Oreo binge but it is your Friday to live as you like. But remember there are just so many Fridays in a lifetime.

This is my story
by XPeterX inborn in.20 years old.only mom is in the truth.i have 2 sisters the one studies occasionally.dad agrees with jw stuff but won't join.i am unbaptised publisher since i was 12,i used to read from the bible and comment but not anymore since february.i seldom miss meetings and go door to door often (well not as often as i should).few or none will call me out of the 125 persons of my congregation and i can't say i know them at all (except 2 persons) even though i 'know' them since 1998.i try to stick to the rule "no wordly friends" but when it comes to friendships in the jw world i end up alone.i honestly know that this situation is encountered by many teens in the org.
globally.maybe that's what jesus said about the absence of love in the last days..

A friend who had left the J.W’s used to believe he and would die at Armageddon. Then he read Crisis of Conscience and changed his mind.
I assure you that if you don’t die of a disease, accident or natural disaster, you will die of old age. Armageddon is a much an illusion as 1914 is.
If you’re not convinced after reading C of C, read Russell’s books. There are digital copies on line that you can download. Here’s what he puts forward as proof for his 1914 date:
The " Descending Passage," from tlie entrance of the
Great Pyramid, leading to the " Pit " or " Subterranean
Chamber," represents the course of the world in general
(under the prince of this world). into the great time of
trouble (the " Pit "), in which evil shall be brought to an
end. The measuring of this period and determining d e n
the pit of trouble shall be reached are easy enough if
we have a definite date-a point in the Pyramid L-om
which to start. We have this date-mark in the junction
of the " First Ascending Passage" with the "Grand
Gdery." That point rnarks the birth o£ our Lord Jesus.
as the " Well," 33 inches farther on, indicates his death.
So, then, if we measure backward down the "First
Ascending Passage" to its junction with the " Entrance
Passage," we shall have a fixed date to mark upon the
donnward passage. This measure is 1542 inches, and
indicates the year B. C. 1542, as the date at that point.
Then measuring abwn the " Entrance Passage" from that
point, to find the distance to the entrance of the "Pit,"
representing the great trouble and destruction witb
which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown
from pomer, me find it to be 3457 inches, syrnbolizing
3457 years from tlie above date, B. c. I 542. This calculation
shows A. D. 191 5 as marking the beginning of the
pkod of trouble; for 1542 years B. c. plus 1915 years
A. D. equals 3457 years. Thus the Pyramid witnesses
that the close o£ 1914will be the bea&ning of the time .
of trouble such as was not since there was a nation-no,
nor ever shall be afterward. And thus it will be noted
that this " Witness" fully corroborates the Bible testimony
on this subject, as shown by the "Parallel Dispensations"
in SCRIPTUSRTEU DIESV,O L. 11.. Chap. vii.
Nor should any doubt the fact that the forty years
o£ "harvest" began in the Ea11 of 1874
