There are a number of long time witnesses in my family ( 60 years plus) who are shocked by the contents of the Jan 1 2007 WT. For the first time they are telling me that someone in the writing department have it sooooo wrong! In their minds it does not mean that the society as a whole is wrong because of their past comments (!!??). But at least they see that something is wrong. I am caught between telling them some things that could further weaken their faith or recognising that they have lived their live by a certain creed and who am I to burst their bubble. I agree that the Jan 1 WT is one of the worst, least researched set of articles I have read yet I am keeping silent because, who am I to tell my elders they have wasted their lives? Why shold I try to undo the the things my relatives have lived their lives by for 50 or 60 years?

The truth about the donation arrangement
by Wolfgirl ini never knew this...just found it today.
made me giggle.. payment of sales tax on literatureon 17 january1990 the u.s. supreme court made a ruling that sales tax must be paid on religious literature.
the following month, a letter from the watchtower society went out to all congregations stating that there would no longer be a set price for literature but that they would be given to the public on a donation basis.

The main reason that the Watchtower Society of Australia ( the legal entity) moved to the donation arrangement was to avoid the (then) new Goods and Services Tax implemented in Australia. I believe that, if someone gained some legal advice it would be proved that the Society are guilty of blatent tax evaision. I visited bethel in Australia before the tax was legislated and had discussions with the treasurers department regarding the issue. It ended in "you say we are and we say we are not". Such is life!

Jail for sex Crimes
A long-serving member of the Jehovah's Witness church has been jailed for sexual offences he committed against two young brothers more than 30 years ago. Rex Peterson, now 69, was brought into Brisbane District Court in a wheelchair for his sentencing yesterday because of multiple debilitating medical conditions. It is expected that he will need around-the-clock care in prison. Judge Michael Shanahan jailed him for three years but ordered the term be suspended after he had served four months.
Anyone know this guy? Why did it take 30 years for this to come to court? To be fair this was not the only instance of sex abuse reported in the paper, there was a couple of other reports.

There has been a lot of discussion regarding Beth Shan with Ed Gruss(?) including it in one of his books but, as far as I am aware there are no other pictures of the underground bunker in the former goat shed.

Sorry for the delay, I was at the casino having some fun. The dealer could not believe how much 'luck' I was having!
Katie Kitten - How many times do I have to say it - organised religion is not my thing! The only thing I approved old Drunken Judge Ratherflawed to say was Religion is a snare and a racket. Live a good life, look out for the needs of other people and I will look after you when we meet.
Jeannie Beanz - No, I don't have the time to 'kak' you over for for each roll in the hay. So many rolls, so little time.
Jason (nice name BTW) You are forgiven. You did little damage while you were out knocking on doors but you did get some good excercise.

I would support the worst sports team in the universe (you people think you were my only experiment?) before I listen to the ramblings of politicians. Check out my opening salvo (thank me for the salvos) against people who do things in my name. As for the after effects of childbirth be thankful I did not give you a prostate! That would have been cruel!

Hello Arthur, I could give you the long technical answer about having the option of making you either male or female in the womb however the real reason was that I was bored and it was a pratical joke that got out of hand. My son still gives me grief about it!

Chuckie - I am staying at Hope Island this time. Holidaying incognito is fun. I was aware of your dilemma on the ship. While I could intervene I decided to help you learn patience. Also, there is far too much bad temptations in Thailand.
Jayhawk1 - A common question. Actually my name has been been a mystery for ever. If you wish to post a prayer to me just address it to G. Hova. C/O Plaides, Heaven. I try not to open spam prayers, but sometimes they still get through.
I have not decided if I will assist the Broncos tonight against the Bulldogs. For my Son's sake, they certainly need my help!. If they win tonight it will be because I bent my rule about not helping sports teams.
