When I was a kid, there was a family from my congregation, in that situation. They got a court order against them in favor of the baby. They violated the court order, took the baby out of the hospital, and smuggled her into Mexico.
It was all anyone could talk about for a long time. Other than that, I have not been in the situation, nor do I know of anyone else who was faced with that choice and what they did. I only know of the one, because it was a circus for a while.

i imagine the pressure must be extreme with the elders and others "supporting" you to do the right thing.. do you think you would have given blood to your family member, especially your child if you were in that situation..

Most JWs who put up websites or whatever in good faith, will cave to WT pressure. They will take it down, shut up, and be quiet. I'm sure it happens a lot. The WT is a legistic bunch.

December 15 Watchtower --- A New Low in WT Anti-Intellectualism
by Room 215 ini wonder whether any of you took note of the article in the 12/15 study edition wt "the simplified watchtower .. why introduced" i couldn't believe they actually had the temerity to put such tripe into print and onto the record.. i was flat-out astonished with its put-down of vocabulary building and self-improvement:.
one egregious example: " the time spent looking up words and explaining expressions (ostensibly from the "smart people's" watchtower) is now spent gaining an understanding of the scriptures and how they fit into the lesson.".
one jw cited in the article actually blames her college education for causing her to fall into the bad habit of "speaking and thinking a way that was more complicated than necessary.

yesidid, as was stated, I started the questions, then stopped. There were numerous "shepherding calls". It was right around the Ray Franz/Great purge frenzy. (of course I didn't know that then) I have also been informed that the COs can put extreme pressure on congregation elders.
I think it was a series of unfortunate events that I happened to get caught up in. -
