Am i worthy to partake of the bread and the wine?
by TimothyT ini need to ask a serious bible based question regarding the bread and the wine that jesus passed around on the night of the passover.. i understand perfectly what these mean, and i understand their relevance, however im struggling to understand, after 15 years of indoctrination, if i am deserving to partake of them.
today at the baptist church, we were all offered the bread and the wine.
i wanted to partake but i still feel that i do not have the right to, as i am not of the chosen nation.

Dear Spirituk and the likeminded (read if you have time),
by okage inso i started going to church with her, and bible studies at her home.
in hindsight.... i found out that she made these moves a few days later when i showed up to her family's house for the study.
i stopped going to our church.

Poignant. Soul bearing and beautifully written.
Perfect Okage.
And even if Spirtuk can't see the value in your words, let me be the first to thank you for the reminder
that we all have a story of a broken heart, but that time mends all.

Thinking of having revenge on the jw girl
by spirituk inhello again, following my story with this girl , and after she blocked me on fb and not answering my phone calls since december , i am now thinking of taking revenge.my feelings of pain are starting to become hate ,and pain always is accompanied by the feeling of revenge to satisfy this bad feeling.i just cant simply forget what shes done to me.
the reasons of my revenge :.
1.she played with my feelings when she knew from the start that she would leave me one day.

Ah Spirituk,
We've spoken on this before, I'm sorry to see you're still in such distress over this girl.
Honestly, let her go. For so many reasons.. exacting revenge will change NOTHING about your situation with her. It won't bring her back, it won't change her mind or association with her congregation.
And least of all, It will NOT make YOU feel better.
In the end, if you are cruel or vengeful toward her, you will just feel a sense of shame and guilt of your own for having stooped as low as she has in leading you on. You already feel torn up over this girl, Don't allow those feelings to encourage you to act in an irrational way.
Let it go, Take stock of your wounds, Feel sad and let down..take time to heal, it's all ok. (been there, done that!!) But just move on and find the RIGHT girl who is free to love you and be in love with you, without having to answer to a life sucking cult.
Good Luck

Memorial Invites from Door to Door?
by NeonMadman inis this the first year that the jws have been out aggressively handing out memorial invitations from door to door?
i've been out for about 12 years now, but as i recall, congregations used to receive a relatively limited number of memorial invitations, and they were pretty much reserved for bible studies, good rvs, inactive persons, and others who had some sort of connection to the organization.
they were not just randomly handed out from house to house - that was what the "special talk" invitations were for.. it occurs to me that this might be an attempt by the wts to pump up the memorial attendance so as to maintain the illusion of continued growth.

Just wanted you to know, none of you are intriguing. Rather, you're all quite repulsive.
by Theocratic Sedition innot saying that's my personal opinion, but this week's congregation bible study asks the viewpoint question, "would apostate literature or internet sites intrigue you or repulse you?
"- jeremiah book, page 70, para 7. .
gotta love it.. i guess apostate sites are like crime scenes.

Archaic, guilt laden ideologies from an Archaic, fear mongering establishment.
*shaking my head*
I saddens me very deeply to think of people we all know and love still trapped in this life, possibly even believing in it's validity and "love".

Need help waking up a JW friend - Significant prophetic years in JW history
by SweetBabyCheezits inguys, i have a chance to help an old friend but i'm pressed for time.
i'll be googling while i'm waitin for responses but i thought others might have some great sources that are harder to find.. first, can anyone recommend a list or website that lists all the infamous years that russell and other leaders expected to have special significance?
it's been too long since i've read up on all of that but i'm thinking about the years like 1799, 1874, 1881, 1910, 1914, etc.... but i need it to be concise, like a table, and i must be able to list references to scans at least.

As much as I don't like to be negative and dash your very earnest hopes Spirtuk, What the other's are saying IS true..
the harder you push and the more persistent you are, the more you risk driving her toward the Cult and all it has to offer. It all just serves to prove to her that ARE in fact, sent by satan to tempt her away from her "True Salvation" as she has been taught in her kingdom hall. We (worldlies) are vile in their eyes.
As much as I admire your tenaciousness and devotion to this girl, I do warn that you stand to be very very hurt.. and I am speaking from experience.
While I don't sit in judgement of your eagerness , I would say that if you are FULLY sure this is the path you want to choose, and you are determined that you will wait and work at freeing this girl.
I would suggest you think carefully about your approach and find ways to GENTLY remain in her life, giving her space, time and just being supportive, rather than going in guns blazing.
POSSIBILY if your young lady begins to feel the seeds of doubt she will remember what a good friend you have been and how your caring for her has been unconditional, and she may turn to you for support and help.
POSSIBLY being the main word here, I think it's rather difficult to fathome at times, the depth of the indoctrination of the JW cult and how incredibly strong the guilt and fear have a hold on it's members.
There are so many variables.. you also have to think of YOU in all of this. I know it hurts, I know it well... (I have over 20 years invested in my situation)
Don't lose yourself in the process of trying to "save" her.
Good luck my determined friend!
