  A few things I don't understand about the bible

  there have always been things about the bible that never really made much sense to me.

  not to say that i disagree with whats in the bible but i have wondered about the fairness of certain things.. 1. for example i've always even as a child thought that it was odd that so many people would die during armageddon.

  now as an adult and i understand people better than i did years ago i really do feel puzzled about the fact that according to the scriptures the majority of mankind will perish.

  i think jan meant and i agree that in boulth chapters of daniel you sighted it is NOT dealing with what you clame it is. this is not a matter of faith. you don't need to believe to understand what is being said.

  there is an even simpler answer to this:it's untrue. it's not knowledge or the lack of it that the bible points to it's gods grace. were is it in the bible that knowledge is needed?

  i never said he was wrong, most all species ever to live on this planit eventually have gone extinct and we, most likely, will too. but that is not what he said is it? he said we would likely be wiped out not buy something but by something very specific "a doomsday virus".
  what i said is this is a political statement based on congecture, possibly to advance his personal agenda. NOT a matical equasion done by the great MR. Halking, as might be implied by his association with the statement.

  Hawking!! now i'd like to see that math. or could it be that steven is basing his statment on arbitrary conjecture? it's true that hawking wants the human race to colonize space, but he would never use the fears of the US to advance his agenda. would he? no, not the steve meistir..he MUST have done an incredable amount of research into ALL the other things that could "wipe" us out. right? he MUST have equally calcuated ALL the possible cenarios that could save the race, outside of space colonization. right? you will notice the word "likely", old steve is too smart to get caught advancing his agenda. it's only a matter of odds. lol you go steve take us to the stars.

  Steven Hawking, although he is my hero, should stick to math and leave politics to the politicians.

  A New Breed Of JW Emerging?

  is there a new breed of jw emerging, i wonder?.

  i know that there are lots of real brainwashed dubs around who see demons behind every car boot sale item and who scuttle off to the elders with every bit of tittle-tattle imaginable, but, i think that there is a new type of dub who quietly does just as he / she pleases.. this is what i think: many of the long-serving jw's who have seen the 1975 failure and the 1914 generation change are now approaching old age with something of a jaundiced eye, and are choosing to do their own thing in their remaining years.

  in conversations i am picking up it seems that the elders are being regarded somewhat derisively by many jw's.

  first off, i am not a jw anymore,was one for over 20 years.haven't set foot in the kingdom hall for 9 years.

  my question is"why not be truthful about what this site is?

  "this site is set up to look at first appearence as a legitimit witness site.why the "front"?if users here are proud of their x-jw status,or are proud of the fact they have left the wbts organization,why isn't this site named x-jehovah witness.com ?

  No, but if I was looking for a site about advancing in my post office career, i surely wouldn't want to talk to X disgruntaled employee's either

  i would.
  how did the union help or hurt them? how were thay treated? why are thay disgruntal? what choices did thay make that put them in this position? how would i find information into the other side of government work, if ALL the info is one sided and biased?
  
  if you looked into advancing your government career what would the WT say to you.

  it's a funny analogy "advancing in my post office career," to advancing in your WT privelages, or advancing in your WT position.

  i must ask my self: do i seek position or knowledge? can the truth stand in the light? am i afraid to look?
