if any of you are/were jws, then you know of the "donation arrangement", the semantical approach of the wts to soliciting donations/funds.
i remember when this was initiated.
much talk was made about it.
having said that ...because I read it a few months back........does that not PUBLICLY put the pressure on the PO to do so since if he doesnt everyone wil know he failed his job.......

i wonder what the percentage is of ex-jws who become involved in other organized religions.
i had a discussion with a psychiatrist friend recently.
he told me that i am a "psychiatric anamoly," that most "devout" people who leave a religion will join another and become as devout in their new religion.

stephen, your boy was talking about religions. you would need to look at the % of cult members who join organized religions. religis traning and cult programming are two very diferent things.

Have some local authority trying to downplay what has happened to prevent panic, and then while still live on TV, something else supernatural happens, and then the live satellite feed goes out. News report returns to the live newscasters in the newsroom, who try to maintain calm, with rising panic in their own voices. (You know how those seasoned anchor-persons are supposed to keep their voices unemotional.)

write about control of ones thinking as quoted below i get steamed .

it seems that many who post on this board hold that the jw organization is a fraud, schemed mainly bu the g.b.
members.
but so far i have never read something as to the reasons behind the fraud.
alot of people think the GB thinks they are in service to God. that is all well and good to think but, someone somewhere, did a lot of research in to mind control techniques (the WTB&TS inc. is, maby the best in the world) and the wt reads like it was written by a shifty lawyer. look at the blood and other public relations problems, how have they addressed them? they have cut and run, leaving the r&f jws holding the bag, the blame and the guilt. they have made decisions like, to annul the baptism of a mentally ill man (sentising him to the "grave"), because he was an embarassment to them.
you see them as what they do, not what they say. they are making decisions from a certin position. well what is there position?? are they taking care of the flock or the corporate interests? i think, based on the changes that i have been made aware of, that thay are in a period of flux. they are revamping the the "society" to make it financially viable in the future.

i was driving past a disused kingdom hall last week, here in wsm.
it looked very out of place with its watchtower crennelations, like a mediaevel sort of castle, with a huge sign announcing that this was now the home of the british red cross.
however, we are now blessed with a new, quick-build kingdom hall on the outskirts of town.. but this is not the true story, this quick-build kingdom hall took 3 months to erect, unlike the publicity blurb handed out to our local newspaper which claimed that the work was done in 3 days.. being involved in the building trade, i knew that the local equipment hire company had been supplying the dubs with concrete mixers, diggers, back hoes and jcb's for fully 3 months before the build officially started.. all the ground work was done weeks beforehand, all the services laid on, the roof trusses were ready and waiting as was the curtain walling and window shutters.
i wonder, if someone took a photo a day, and sent them to the local news paper, for the months befor construction "began". would the headline read "not exactly the truth"?
