innocently, i wanted to send each person here a valentine card.
Exactly, April!!!! But, I didn't let that one (insecure) person spoil it. I am still crocheting like the wind (forgive the pun) and sending them (Elsewhere's got sent today).
It's hard to include mates and family if you don't know if the person you're sending a card to has either. Oh well. I say, send, send, send!!!

April, it's sad that someone would take something so innocent (and so very nice) and let their jealousy turn it into something other than how it was intended! I feel very sorry for this insecure person.
Your heart is in the right place. You say that you received nice e-mails... I say, continue on! Send those Valentine e-cards!!!! Don't let one person destroy the happiness you are getting and giving by doing this very sweet gesture!

Sheila, Estee and April, thank you for letting me know that you liked your dish cloths (and, April, what can I say? You are the dearest friend I've ever had). It makes me happy to know that the only thing I can make with my hands is nice enough to give to people I care about.
I am very concerned, though, about who may not have gotten theirs yet. Elsewhere's got lost in the mail and I will be sending him another today and I'm not sure if Valis ever received his. Valis, if your dish cloth was the wrong color and you aren't happy with it, please don't hold back from telling me. I will make you a different one.
My offer still holds. If anyone else would like a dish cloth, please e-mail me.
so many witnesses have been ill. i'm not talking about the flu or a cold, either.
many witnesses suffered from ailments that were not necessarily common to most people.
i know of jw's that had to literally run out of the meetings every week because they said they were allergic to perfumes and different scents.
Yeppers, I feel better. I used to have horrible pains in a shattered ankle and fibromyalgia and arthritis. Everything seems ever so much better now, thank you very much! It's a miracle! It's a miracle from God!!!!!!
divorce is much more common in the jehovah's witness community than they would like to admit.
probably more so than the population in general.. if you have been divorced do you think that the watchtower society contributed to the divorce, or caused it, or is it just possible you married some jerk or abuser and divorce would have occured no matter what religion you were, or even if you had no religion?.
possibly you got married way too young as the end was coming and there is no marriage in the resurrection if you died.
I am three-time divorced from two jws. I thought differences wouldn't matter much because we would be in the New System soon and be perfect. The longest marriage lasted seven years. Armageddon just didn't come soon enough.
i want to thank all those that helped and encouraged me in my hard times!..hubby passed away from his cancer this morning.
i am so sad my heart is broken.
we decided to go ahead and have a memorial for him this weekend at the kingdom hall he went to.

Hi, Sang, yes I agree about the Pharisee metaphor, but in Cain's case, his offering wasn't exceptable, just like the Pharisee's prayer. Cain worked hard in his fields and the pharisees worked hard at instilling the Law on the people, but they were 'sent away'. Religion with works (jws) will be sent away.
Abel's offering was a sincere act of repentance. He was saddened to his heart about sin. He killed the best of his young flock to show the gravity of his repentance (way before the Law was written). He was in a dying condition and felt alienated from God. He could talk to God, but there was a wall where there hadn't been one and this weighed heavily on his spirit, the spirit he had from God.

Is that how you see me...as Jehovah loving? I love God, but haven't called him Jehovah since I left the org. Don't know if I ever will.
By way of an explanation, I've had problems with the Bible ever since I opened one up as a nonjw kid. I am seeing it differently...not literally or with disgust. I'm seeing if it has value to me. If I look at the stories as symbols of life's lessons, I can come to grips with all the other emotions I've had regarding it. I feel this is part of my growth.
I purposely put this post here under Personal Beliefs to share my thoughts on it. I know a lot of people probably don't understand me, but that's okay. These boards are here for healing and this is part of the process for me.
