it has been many years since i was dsfsd, i have written this to my sister in hopes that she could understand some of the reasons that the relationship between my daughter and myself have been strained for so many years.

i thought that by posting this it might help someone else that might be going through some of the same things.. here is my story.hello, as i stated in my other e-mail i will dedicate this entirely to trying to explain my situation with my daughter.

i hope you don`t mind if it gets lengthy.as you probably already know i chose to be a jehovahs witness, and was one for more than 16 years.

The funny thing is that I would have never stayed with him if I had not learned about the Jehovah hates a divorcing thing. My gut feeling was to run the other way and I went against that to serve (or so I thought) God.

I don`t believe that I was bearing anything very well. I was reaching a breaking point, I guess I only knew that, and someone was going to get hurt. Had I gone back to him I would have made his life a living hell as he had done for me. Can you imagine that I went back to him and caused him some sort of grave injury. I would be a Jehovahs Witness in good standing sitting in jail, how could my daughters have lived with that?

You are right I gave too much of my life to that org.

Ditto, wow! It`s like looking in the mirror.

I have spent years healing and trying to become an emotionaly harder person, for my own safety and survival. You guys have brought me to tears.You guys are great, and btw like Gloria Gainer sings, I am no longer that chained up little person still in love with you. I WILL SURVIVE!

If there is anyone out there still in the organization and you are reading and you can identify with anything here, you are not alone.

Those elders you had to deal with sound like idiots. You took a lot of crap off of them. Sorry that kind of ignorance happened to you.

I am very happy about being able to talk to Mary (not real name, but close) again. I see so much of myself in her when I was her age and in the org.

Yes, my ex, right after my dfshing I told a friend (jw still talking to me) that I should report him for his treatment of me. She said why, nothing will be done about it. Don`t you know that the org needs brothers, they need him too badly to do anything. She even asked me why did I go to the brothers about myself, I told her it was the right thing to do. She laughed in my face and asked me if I was crazy, she said I should have never done that.

You have endured so much, I admire you!

I have apologized to both of my daughters, even the oldest, for raising them in a religion that I did not investigate. I too have mentioned to my jw daughter my regrets. She does not want to really talk about it. (of course). When I apologized to the youngest she just grinned and said " yeah it is your fault isn`t it?" Trying not to have favoritism, I love her! She did accept my apology.

I am not sure about posting my e-mail to my oldest daughter yet.

My Blues Brother,

Yes I did try very hard, but to show you how much I was trying to conform and please Jehovah.after I left I dated a guy that was always calling me a witch, I think he meant b&tch. His nickname for me was woman, and sometimes he called me witchywoman. And yes, yes, yes I love that song. After I chose my name, I realized I would rather be a Black Majic Woman. Ha! I`ll take the moon in my eyes.

I like the real me much better.

(((Sentinel))) You are very sweet, and hang in there with that boy. He is still your son. He may not realize it but he still needs your unconditional love. I will e-mail you. Check up on him, if he doesn`t like it, so what. You are his mother. Who else will care about him more than you?

What if the JW's lost 1/2 of their followers?

in my humbly opinion, the wts is afraid of loosing their uncommissioned & unsalaried "sales people".

the numbers haven't been realy rising except in economically disadvantaged countires, edc, also known as 3rd world countires.

the countries that report jw growth are the same ones that also report growth of the aids epidemic.

It seems to me with the invisible reign of Christ, and all of the so called persecution (uncovering of abuse), that these people should realize for themselves just how close to the end they really are. Are they ready to live only among themselves. The elders would no longer have to answer for all the cover ups.

These people should be creating a community within its own community. Say businesses that mostly have jws as clients. They should be more tightly knit, with only each other to watch each others children, (guess thats a no no). Remember this is not a religion by jw standards, it is a way of life that the gb should be preparing all their flock to be prepared for. This is supposed to be viewed as a new government. Are they really preparing to build that new earth now? They should be a shining example of how they are pulling together and already be that new government by becoming that new earth that has an easy time of making that transition to when only jws walk this earth.

They should be bursting at the seams with new recruits because of these bible prophesies. They should be rejoicing all around the world, to see these prophesies unfolding.

Isn`t that the responsiblity of the gb to lead them into Jehovahs paradisaic government? Isn`t the gb supposed to be Jehovahs mouthpeice? Isn`t that time even more at hand? What are they wating for? Does that mean that Jehovah is letting his people down?

I do not feel that what has ever been dispensed by these group of men has ever helped anyone to deal with living forever, only for living in the moment with an ideal look at the future, instead of a solid one.

I can not believe that I went along with this load of crap for as long as I did.

Thanks Dutchie! I don`t know about admiration, but I think I can perhaps give someone else some encouragement from time to time. I know what it feels like to be beaten down. Sometimes I can`t finish reading other peoples experiences because they have had to endure so much. I have never been called brave before.

Spicy! That is my main concern now but my daughter does not want to be free. I am working on her. I have to be careful and not be too pushy.
