Interesting experience you had. And thats their default mechanism. The wt has computer programmed them so deeply that even when you show them proof from their own literature, their internal response is: "IT DOES NOT COMPUTE". They don't want to deal with it,and/or can't deal with it.

I've had the same experience with jdumbs here in New York City. I've shown them proof of the wt deception from their own literature, sometimes from the literature they are offering to people right there at the same time. They just give a blank stare or want to end the conversation.

Sad situation.

I thank you also for the evidence you posted from the wt society's own literature that proves their intent was to manipulate people's minds for their own selfish and evil purposes. Especially the awake of 5/22/69 where you quoted how they wrote that "this corrupt system is due to end in a few years". That is definitely a prediction because a "few" means a small or limited number, or as my elementary school teachers taught: A few can also mean just 3 or 4.

So once again, there is no doubt, and abundant evidence that they predicted 1975 as the end.

I am enjoying reading everyone's experiences and comments about that time. These real life experiences are very interesting. The best thing about these experiences to me is that they are part of the continually mounting proof that the watchtower is the worst hoax that has ever appeared on this planet. Thats just my own personal opinion.

Like others who have commented earlier, I also feel that one of the best ways to put another nail in the watchtower coffin is to live as successfully as possible. So in the 13 plus years since I walked away from the watchtower hoax society, I have done things that I had always wanted to do, but had not had the time or fully developed desire because of being a part of that cult: I always loved bowling, so I joined a bowling league and bowled in the league for about 8 years. Had a lot of fun! I have been to college to study science: Ongoing. I now have my own business. I am a member of a great success club called the Global Information Network. (GIN) I have expanded my horizons by 'taking in knowledge' (remember that phrase? ) , that has real meaning and worth, by reading information in books written by people such as Napoleon Hill, Charles Haanel, Les Brown, Zig Ziglar, Og Mandino, Claude Bristol, Kevin Trudeau, Dale Carnegie, Peter Ragnar, Mark Hamilton, Neville, Peter B. Kyne, Rhonda Byrne etc.

I am also a member of a grass roots movement that is dedicated to creating the conditions that will allow all people on this planet to live long successful, wealthy, healthy, self-leading lives. A side benefit to this grassroots movement is that it will render the watchtower and its predictions, and all cults like it useless, and will contribute to the watchtower and cults like it, going the way of the dodo bird: Extinction!

This world is shifting in ways that even the stupid watchtower doesn't realize. And they will not be able to adjust because they will not be needed.

To my friend Mr. Flipper, Thank you for bringing this thread back. I'm only able to check the site very rarely and I'm glad I checked today because as you and all the other posters on this thread have correctly pointed out: the WT is responsible for the lives they destroyed with their purposefully deceptive 1975 prediction. I remember that time very well as I was 14 at the time. I remember and still have all the books and magazines and km's that promoted the 1975 lie: the so-called "truth book" "mans salvation out of world distress at hand" book, the "life everlasting book", the "god's kingdom of a thousand years has approached" book, the WT of 3/15/1969 page 171, which said, "Do not pursue higher education. There is very little time left! Make pioneer service, the full-time ministry with the possibility of Bethel or missionary service, your goal." Another book that falsely promoted the lie of 1975 was the "paradise restored to mankind by theocracy" book. As has been mentioned there are so many references that promoted and predicted the 1975 lie. I was a 3rd generation witness and I remember hearing my parents talk sometimes about people who left the borg when the 1975 lie was proved wrong. My father was an elder and although he and my mother were always faithful witnesses, they never actually sounded negative when they talked about some family friends who left. They had more of a curious tone when speaking about the situation. But of course the indoctrination that all of us experienced is what won out. As for me, I was too busy going through my teenage stuff (girls, clothes, cruising at conventions with my jw friends, discovering parties, etc.), to have really cared that much at the time. But I know and remember that the 1975 lie caused massive dissension and my family knew people who were disappointed and left and were subsequently called "apostates" when they rebelled against the 1975 lie, when that year passed and there was no "Armageddon". And I hope that newer witnesses are reading this thread. They just have no clue about what went on in the past. They are just not integrated with the watchtower society's past publications that prove beyond any doubt that the corrupt watchtower society manipulates the bicameral tendencies in people in order to enslave people mentally, get their money and resources, so that they, the wt, can perpetuate their easy parasitical lifestyle. Out here in New York City, the borg has the rank and file sitting and standing with big picture displays and large tables filled with literature in every major subway station in the city: Grand Central Station, 34th Street Pennsylvania Station, 59th Street Columbus Circle. 14th Street Union Square, Roosevelt Ave 74th Street in Jamaica Queens. These displays are provided by the watchtower society and they are out there almost every day, and in several locations within the same subway subway station. This started about 1 1/2 years ago and I have been told by the jdubs that this is a new initiative started by the borg. Of course, hardly anybody pays attention to them. They end up just standing there for hours looking sheepish. And when I see them, I just sigh and say to myself:" if only they could integrate their minds with the reality of the wt, such as with the 1975 lie, they might actually start to think for themselves. OR MAYBE NOT! I really do hope that current witnesses, new or old are reading this thread. IF YOU ARE A CURRENT JEHOVAHS WITNESS AND YOU ARE READING THIS,PAY ATTENTION TO ALL THE COMMENTS HERE! DO SOME RESEARCH IN THE OLDER PUBLICATIONS MENTIONED BY EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD! WAKE UP AND THINK! OR AS THE WACKY PACKAGES FROM THE 1970'S SAID: THIMK!!!!!!! i apologize for not writing much of anything in several weeks.. did you miss me?

(don't answer that!).

i am doing pretty good now after going through the worst year of my 60 years of life... but in order to make some changes that will enable me to keep working, i really had to take time off to take care of medical issues (mostly my spine - destroyed after 30 years spending 10-12 hours a day on the computer).

I really enjoyed that update. Ever since I left the borg back in 1999 and found out about your website, I always enjoyed the vast amount of information on it and have used it many times to help inform others, including members of my family who left the borg soon after I left the borg. I was always amazed at how much work you must have put have been putting into your website and Freeminds publications. I still have the ones I received back in 1999 and 2000. In your post above I enjoyed reading about your goal to help cripple the wt's influence. There is no doubt that because of the work you have done, you have inspired so many to join in the same noble goal. Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do.

wow.

i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.

i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

This is my first post in many years. From time to time I read a little of the latest topics and I am enjoying all the comments on this topic and with a lot of laughs also. Thanks and even the comments that have made me laugh are so true.

Ziddina, I can relate to your points about the assemblies. I'm 51 and I remember all the assemblies/conventions that were 7 days long here in New York at Yankee Stadium. I remember they started at about 9am and went on until after 9pm. FOR SEVEN DAYS! Every year! And the long prayers! I recall at Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, Aqueduct, and Belmont Racetracks, that during those loooooooonnnnnnnnng prayers, I had to keep opening my eyes to keep my balance from falling ahead, especially if sitting high up at the stadiums. I remember the food tents at Yankee Stadium where hot food was cooked on the spot. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetables, etc.

Of course, what a waste it all turned out to be.

As for this new awake, this is the first I've heard about it, and as many posters have pointed out, it all just shows that the wt is continuing to go down, they have nothing left, they're trying to hold on to those who are still brainwashed, and those who are still fully drinking the koolaid will continue to say"Wow! The end is really close now! Those who are upset over this new awake are probabaly having their lights turned on to some extent to let them see that wt is nothing more than what all of us so-called apostates (and we are proud of it), have been pointing out for years: A fraud, and one of the biggest, if not the biggest fraud on the planet. Hopefully as all these changes continue to occur, maybe some will finally apply fully integrated honesty and some wide scope thinking about the wt, and stop wasting their lives there and get out.

My mom is still in (reluctantly). We talk many times and I'm going ask her about this new awake format and waht was said.
