Hubble was an INCREDIBLE investment. Could you imagine what we could discover if we could actually put together an observatory rivalling the largest on earth ON THE MOON?

instead of being totally avoided, they may be given encouragement to practice sex (obviously within safe limits) with other youths or even adults.
some cultures already encourage something like this.. socially, it seemed that boys were given subtle encouragement to "score", while girls were always viewed as the innocent victims to be protected from such lustful young men.
It is, I suppose, a matter of perspective. Giving my heart is more significant to me than having sex, so I'd probably warn in that direction.
Discussion kind of reminds me of perhaps the most beautiful poem I've ever heard:

Sex is the most intimate experience you can have with another person
Again, what makes it that? Every single animal does it. The desire to do it is biological in nature.
FWIW, I disagree with this position. The most intimate experience you can have with another person is to trust and love them completely and without reservation and have that trust and love returned.
Any living thing can have sex...only humans can trust or love. *That's* what makes us special. *That* is what is the most intimate thing to share with another person.

To survive in this world, people are taught to look out for "Number 1" sometimes at the cost of destroying other people's lives. They never stop to think about what their actions are doing to others.
I suspect many do. I'd argue that even if EVERYONE did, it would change nothing. We look out for #1 because that is what evolution taught us to do - it's what every other animal does, too.
What WOULD make a difference....if a person felt intense pleasure (like, orgasmic here) from making another person happy. THAT would make a difference. People would run around, still looking out for #1, just spreading joy like....well, something that spreads really well.

She wants an alternate treatment in the US that uses stem cells rather than blood. Stem cells were OK because they were precursors to blood, not blood themselves.
Feel silly bumping this because of how long ago it was posted, but I was reading through the history of the situation and found this - LOL!

why did jesus do miracles?.
it is alledged that some 2000 years ago a man claimed to be the son of god , or even god himself (depends what religion you are).. in order to give some weight to his cliam he did some miracles, cured a few lepers, made a slap up lunch out of some fish and bread, and took a walk on some water.. all this to prove he was gods son.. but to prove it to who?.
if you ask a witness why god doen't perform miracles today , what do they say.. we don't need miracles today we have it all written in the bible.. der.
the human mind is a wonderful healing device and we only use about 10% of it.
*bzzzzt* Sorry, urban legend. We use 100%.
And I'm not saying the 'mind' per se, but the spirit of the person - their personality/emotional state (which is controlled by the brain, obviously, but I want to differentiate this). The human body is capable of healing some remarkably extensive wounds, IF the mind is willing to go on fighting.
If you 'give up', no matter how capable your body is, it won't fix the problems it is physically capable of repairing.
And I would argue that feeling something is very, very different from experiencing a miracle.
