  Angelic Gender?

  funny how a strange thought can just 'pop' into your head.. .

  according to genesis, a preface to the flood was the intercourse that took place between materialised angels and human women (gen 6:2).

  if the angels have no gender, why were not at least some of them tempted by human men and so materialise as women?.

  Just a side thought...I know when I was a JW and the subject of demons came up you always heard about women being bothered by the demons in a sexual way...never the men...was this because they have it in their heads that the demons are men? lol or are women better at coming up for excuses for masterbating? uuummm it wasn't me brother so and so it was a demon!

  last night's meeting at our congregation was exactly 2 weeks since our public reproof.. my wife was in attendance.

  the local needs talk was about...apostasy!.

  this of course lets the congregation know exactly what our reproof was for.

  so how is your wife taking things anyway? it is getting any easier for ya'll? must be tough not discussing this matter after that talk, huh? wouldn't be suprised if you have some brothers or sisters trying to get more info out of you about why exactly ya'll were reproved, JW have got to be the noisest people in the world! Next to me anyway lol.

  The meaning of life? For me it is just to enjoy what I have without spending all my time worrying about what tomorrow will or will not bring...not putting my life on hold anymore for some future "promise"...

  The point in living? Seeing my daughter smile...sunrises....spending time with the people I respect and love...absorbing knowledge to add to the collective...lol the list goes on and on....

  Funerals

  i haven't been to a "worldly" funeral...well ever that i can remember.

  all the funerals i have been to have been jw ones where they use it as another opportunity to preach to everyone in sight.

  they usually make a token mention of the dead loved one and then begin with the resurrection and earthly paradise and how you have to be a jw to get there.. today i went to my aunts funeral.

  Thank you for all the condolences...my aunt was 85 when she died and although I will miss her she lived a full, productive and happy life (lol she was NEVER a JW).

  I believe I understand where you are coming from Frenchy, both my parents died several years ago and I was outraged at how my sisters and the JW's used their funerals as a platform for the conversion of my "worldly" relatives. It sickened me to see them passing out tracts..no doubt my pioneer sis counted the time! Even though I was a JW at the time this struck me as totally inappropriate and cold!

  I am with you think the "worldly" way of doing funerals for the most part (I am sure there are exceptions here too) is a lot healthier!
