  Legal question about receipt

  should jw give receipt when donations are given to them on the 'preaching work'?.

  last week, when i gave a donation to the firemen for their calendar, they gave me a receipt.. joe

  No petty you can sue "worldly" people just not "brothers"...no matter how bad the screw you...

  This guy seems to have an interesting life for a JW...saw mention of "lovers" several times...what's up with that???

  And I think they automatically give them for donations over $100.00..lol like anyone is going to give them that much out in the door to door work...

  But from some reason that sticks in my mind...maybe for when you donated at the hall???

  A few things I don't understand about the bible

  there have always been things about the bible that never really made much sense to me.

  not to say that i disagree with whats in the bible but i have wondered about the fairness of certain things.. 1. for example i've always even as a child thought that it was odd that so many people would die during armageddon.

  now as an adult and i understand people better than i did years ago i really do feel puzzled about the fact that according to the scriptures the majority of mankind will perish.

  Some of my issues with the prophecies are that we don't know FOR SURE when parts of the Bible were written. Were they ACTUALLY written in advance of the fact...as in the case of Cyrus being named as the one to overthrow Babylon...

  Friendly,Outgoing,Gossipy Elder's Wives.....,

  have you noticed that elder's wives are so friendly that they get a lot of information from the other sisters and go right to their husband (congregation overseer) with the info?

  it's no wonder the elders seen to know so much.

  do you seem to have a simular situation in your congregation?

  Okay - This is A little Confusing

  what does one make of all these current recent events w/the jw's?

  i must admit, i'm a little nervous.

  since i was a child it was reinforced that there would be these situations against jw's (slowing of the preaching work, restrictions on their ability to preach), as well as the ever well known belief that eventually god will have found all his "true followers" out of this system of things, and the new "dubs" enlisting would dwindle (which is happening if you look at the stats).

  Sometimes I wonder too petty...but you know what even when I went I never thought I was going to make it anyway (neither did my sisters lol) so I figure I might as well enjoy the time I do have and let the future take care of itself....

  If there is a God and he is interested in us I would like to think he is a lot more just and mercyful than most JW's and other religious groups make him out to be.....
