  My niece's change of heart.....

  in my never-ending task of trying to get my niece out of jws clutches, i have good news.

  just a brief history.

  my lifetime jw mom raised my niece from the age of 9 due to my sister's alcohol and drug abuse.

  how do you feel about people who smoke in public places such as bars and restaurants?

  if i complain about smokers in my pub, they say: "it's a pub, what do you expect?".

  i can't see the reasoning here.

  I am very fortunate living here in Austin, aka the clean air capital, because they are very non smoker oriented. But even here the stench of ciggy smoke invades the air at most clubs and bars....sigh...

  I hate the way your clothes smell after clubbing....yuck! Smells like you rolled around in an ashtray! My take on smoking is that if you want to do it..fine...but don't inflict it on me! Take it outside!

  this was the first house i ever knew...when mom came home from the hospital...this was it.

  i waited all those months to get into this world and come and live here...a peaceful home.

  i had some toys and spent my days learning to ride my tricycle and then progressed onto learning to ride my beautiful blue bicycle which dad had brought home as an end-of-year gift for me.

  Oh I am so sorry...children..hell anyone should not have to go through anything like that! How can people say there is a loving God when stuff like this goes on? Who would allow this type of thing if they could stop it?

  Me And Funerals!

  i made a remark recently about funerals being sore spot with me on the thread funerals.

  this is in response to sunspots request for my experience with funerals.

  it would probably take less time for me to just write it again than to look it up...lol!.

  It makes me very sick to think of how I could possibly have ever believed they were God's chosen people. UGGH

  Sorry to have brought back such hurtful memories! Their callous treatment of family members is disgueting isn't it? Thank you for sharing your stories although I am sure it was painful to relive them!If nothing else, rest assured, it helps to strengthen my resolve to never go back and to do everything in my power to help others leave this "religion"!

  Funerals

  i haven't been to a "worldly" funeral...well ever that i can remember.

  all the funerals i have been to have been jw ones where they use it as another opportunity to preach to everyone in sight.

  they usually make a token mention of the dead loved one and then begin with the resurrection and earthly paradise and how you have to be a jw to get there.. today i went to my aunts funeral.

  Funny I have no idea now what I would do for a funeral...I have no established religions beliefs anymore. lol this board is the closest thing I have to a religion anymore....hhhmmm who could I have give my funeral talk?

  I could ask logical to write some music if he would....ladonna to sing (I wish!)...there are so many great poets on here I wouldn't know who to ask to write something...of course april would have to get up and speak (only nice things april!)

  lol outnfree I am still getting used to the new forum...must have been in a bible research topic when I decided to post this...sorry!

  I know Ranchette, kids made the best excuse but like you said how sad to want your kids to feel bad just so you could stay home. lol Tim and I used to argue about who got to stay home with her!

  Dan I wish I would have had the guts to slip out for a beer! Would have made the meeting MUCH more enjoyable!
