  Do JW's really 'trust in Jehovah'????

  jw's claim to trust their god jehovah implicitly.

  they fervently preach, teach, publish unending articles about god's protection, even baptising converts who have sworn an oath to jehovah and his "representitive organization" .

  they believe unreservedly that god takes a, moment by moment, active role in watching out, taking palpable action on behalf of jw welfare.

  Really had my eyes opened on this trust in Jehovah thing when my parents died. My dad had wanted to sell (for a nominal amount) some land to the Org. for a Kingdom Hall and he died before this was done. My sister (pioneer, wife to PO and caretaker of an assemblyhall) didn't want to sell it to them because she didn't want to wait for them to come up with the money and also she wanted more for it than they could afford at the time. Anyway knowing my dad's wishes I was going to buy the land with part of my money and donate it...she told me not to do it because I really couldn't afford to...so I asked her..don't you think Jehovah will take care of me if I do this? Her response...loud and long laughter....lol really made me think...if this "faithful" servant isn't willing to trust in Jehovah why the hell am I?

  Needless to say I am now very happy things turned out as they did, but it really made an impression on me how they mouth the words but when it comes right down to it then rely on THEMSELVES just like everyone else!

  Mispronunciations at the meetings

  moxy raised a point in the "exaggeration" thread that aggravated me at the meetings.

  mispronunciations.

  moxy mentioned the word 'hyperbole' as frequently being mispronounced.. another one that bugged me was 'epitome'.

  There was a sister at our hall in Florda who pronounced interesting as inSIRresting...drove me NUTS...lol and she used the word over and over and over again!

  i am an active jw and was raised as one.

  i have been watching the site for a while and thought it could benefit from the opinions of someone who is happily a member of the jw's.

  i will not get into any argumets that lead to nothing except name calling, and will not talk with anyone who is just plain mean (plenty of them in here).

  Welcome Scumgrief! Personally I don't have a problem with someone being a JW if that makes them happy...lol...my problem is their having a problem with me no longer wanting to be a JW. If I can be nice to someone who is a JW and not shun them...hhhmmm wonder why they can't do the same..especially since they should be more Christlike than an apostate like me

  Songs And Experiences.

  i don't know if they still have this little gem to start off assembly sessions.

  back in my days of dubdom, some raw recruit would often relate to the assembled multitude his/her story of how his/her life was a mess when - bingo!

  a chance encounter led them straight into the 'trooth', and hey look at me everyone, i'm living proof it's the troof!.

  Haven't heard that exact one...but they all start to sound kinda the same after awhile, don't they? This was usually my time to take a restroom break...until they announced from the platform that it was rude to leave to go to the restroom during this time....geez

  my dub sister planned this little event to see the lion king.

  she invited my two other sisters and their families and purposely left me out.

  when my family asked about me, she just shrugged her shoulders -- the little hypocrite couldn't "stumble" them by telling them she was shunning her own sister.
