so they struggle as to how to be disobedient to the slave.
their comments reveal the sick mindset of the jw in action as they try to decide how to setup a forum.

Some things that annoy me about the WTS
by Leander ini'm still currently a jw myself and i'm serving as a minsterial servant in a limited capacity.
(a few weeks ago i was vocal about the doubts i've had and the elders made the decision to allow me to stay on as a ms but without giving talks) .
1. recently as in the last few years i've been paying more attention to the various members in the congregation and i've observed some interesting things.

I feel your pain Leander!!!!
You know what really bugged me about the conventions..the fact we couldn't stay where ever the hell we wanted to...like the rates they got at the hotels were that great! Lol couple of times we stayed over an extra day and had to pay the "normal" rate..it was usually within $5.00 - $10.00 (if there was even a difference) of the "special" JW rate....wwwooohooo big savings! None of the nice hotels we wanted to stay in were on their damn list! Our last convention we stayed at the hotel we WANTED to stay at..lol we caught so much flack for that!!!

On the language thing..my mom's family immigrated here from Czech (don't ask me to spell it out and feel free to discriminate against me for my lack of spelling skills) and somehow they managed to learn the language, teach it to their children and still perserve their heritage in the process...seems to me that if they could do it...well you know possibly others could to??? I have worked with a great many Spanish speaking people and the majority of them have shown NO DESIRE to learn English. I lived in Spain for several years and in Mexico...never expected people to learn English for me...it was nice when they did know it..but I tried to learn their language because I was in their country. I have lost a lot of my language skills thru disuse but apparently I better hone up on them because in this day and time it is hard to get a job anymore if you are not bilingual!
Why should you feel guilt for something your forefathers did??? You had no control over their actions...you can feel sorry for the effects and do everything in your power to see that something like that is never allowed to happen again in YOUR lifetime...but guilt over something you had no control over???

Well I am getting in on this kind of late...but what the heck!
I have to say that while I don't completely agree with the original post I think that calling it racist is a bit extreme. I found some of the points it made to be relevant...but the presentation could have been better What really suprised me was how some people jumped all over it...I would have thought coming out of the JW org would leave us with more open minds and tolerance of others views and opinions even when they don't correspond with our own.
I can't help but wonder what exactly consititues a racist? Maybe I am one and don't even know it....Disagreeing with the principle of affirmative action, does that make one a racist? Expecting people who move here from other countries to learn the language, does that make one a racist? Not feeling guilty every day because someone of my same ethnic orgin over a hundred years ago enslaved someone of another ethnic orgin, does that make one a racist? Does posting an opinion that differs from the politically correct majority make one a racist?? Maybe I just don't understand the underlying meaning of this word...if so please enlighten me.

I used to post on another board under my name but there was another Diane there so I asked some people to help me come up with another name to use. April suggested Xena since I am into black leather...I liked it and it has stuck since....personally I think she chose it because she secretly has a fantasy of playing Gabby to my Xena...she wants me..I know she does...but I have heard that redheads are just trouble!

I used to post under DianeB on another ex JW site, but there was a DianeP there and people got us confused (can you imagine that???) so April forced me to start using Xena. Then I went over 25 posts one time as Xena and April forced me to make a Xena2. So you can see none of this is my doing...I am a puppet of April/Tatiana...she is the mastermind of my multipe personalities and I believe she should be punished severely!!!!

How was everyone's holiday?

even after leaving in 92, i've never put up a xmas tree or cooked a turkey.
my thanksgiving dinner tonight was a lobster, and i ate alone as usual.

Well we did the whole nine yards of food! lol I now understand my mom talking about how she cooked all day to prepare a meal that only took 30 minutes for everyone to eat But it was great! tyydyy's uncle called us and told us he just got d/fed so we invited him and his family over to share Thanksgiving with us! So we had them and a few other friends...and now we are going over to another friends house to eat there...just roll me home!!!
Bendrr the lobster sounds wonderful (can you believe I can even THINK of food still??) next year can I join you???
