Buddha Answers Prayers
by Big Tex inmy son, jackson, was admitted to the hospital on monday.
he has asthma and had a severe enough attack that his lips began to turn blue.
at any rate, he hates hospitals, more to the point he hates ivs (can't say i blame him) as well as being awakened at 2:00 a.m. just to have blood pressure checked.

HS . . . at least I know how to spell what I'm without . . . naivete'.
Actually, if you really want to spell it correctly the diacritical mark goes above the e as an accent acute é. However, for English spelling, diacritical marks are generally not used with anglicized words such as naivete. XW- got into a discussion on that one with my english teacher step-father one night - came in handy after all

I get the impression that "America" is very like the WTS - the rank and file are fed a diet of fear and propaganda that those outside simply cannot comprehend. If you try and tell them about it then the shutters come down as they have been conditioned to. If anyone speaks up and questions the dogma then they are shunned and isolated.
Oh my. What a totally pompous statement. Perhaps it would be better for you to understand that you don't hold the answers to US foreign or domestic policy or the realization thereof. It is, in fact, merely your opinion based on what you read or see etc., that you "try and tell" us over and over again. Although you are entitled to those opinions- it's hardly what would be considered emphatically "correct".
"Oh, if' they'd only listen to us- they'd see the way" What a bunch of malarky. What is funny is that when there is a connection made to the WTS that includes you or your board or how you operate it- you find it offensive but you are very quick to make the same inane analogies when it suits your agenda.

Why I am leaving JWD
by logansrun ini'm leaving this forum...at least temporarily.
as i mentioned in conversation over dinner at the chicago apostafest, my upcoming school schedule (which begins next week) combined with my workload will make it very difficult to be an active member on this forum.
perhaps i'll check in occassionaly when life is a little slower but for now i'd better distance myself from the on-line scene or else the other elements in my life will suffer.

Good luck in school. The more you lean the more you realize you don't know shit. When you reach that point, let us know.
Very well put. Reminds me of the recent college grads I've interviewed over the years. The ones with the "I'm going to show you how to run your company because I know how because I just graduated and you obviously don't know how because I haven't been here yet" attitude. Yep, they knew theory but had no experience with practical application.
I'm not trying to diss you on your way out for a break- enjoy your studies and enjoy life and take heed Dave's words- they are very wise ones indeed.
Good luck to you!

There was this guy in the Jewish faith called the "Mohel" who circumcised all the boys. But what they didn't know was that the mohel was saving all the foreskins. So one day the mohel goes to the leather shop and says: I've been saving all these foreskins for all these years, here they are. Can you make something out of them for me?" The leather worker told him to come back in a week and he'd have something for him.
The Mohel returned a week later and the leather worker told him his charges: $500. The Mohel was taken aback but gave him the $500.
The leather worker handed him a wallet. The Mohel was aghast! "I gave you all the foreskins I've collected all these years and $500 and all you give me is a wallet?!! The leather worker looked at him and said "Yes, but just rub it a little and it turns into a suitcase"
