Candace Conti - Consequence for Elders
by The Searcher inbodies of elders around the world will soon (tm) receive a nicely worded letter from the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, telling them that local elders are now responsible for ensuring that no perverts are allowed to be alone with any children on any kind of witness business, otherwise, the boe will be accountable to the courts - not the org!.
however, if the elders are aware that bro.
& sister oblivious sometimes ask bro.

Once I found about Candace Conti and after the last Elder School in 2012 that still said that there had to be 2 witnesses to child abuse when I was hoping they would change that policy I resigned since I started realizing I didn't want to be held legally responsible plus it just took too much of my time away from my family. I'm glad I'm not an elder anymore. -

what would happen If?
by sowhatnow ini submitted a letter to the local k hall, explaining that i no longer believe my baptism as a jw is valid, based on my current bible knowlege.
and i wish to be no longer considered a baptised [in this organization], jw, but simply a christain who studies the bible.. and then would continue to attend meetings?.
they couldnt prevent me, its open to the public.. .

They would ignore you and treat you as disfellowshipped since you disassociated yourself. They consider it the same thing.

Yes, I do remember numbers like those back in the early to mid 90's. I go baptized in 1997 with 13 others at a circuit assembly that had an attendance of 1200. I remember attending district conventions with 10 to 11,000 people there and seeing 100 people get baptized. Now you never see that, maybe at an international convention.

by pixel ingood morning.
want to attend?.
kingdom ministry school.

It was the last Kingdom Ministry School that I attended 2 years ago that was another nail in the coffin for me resigning as an elder. It seems more than half of that one was devoted to the disfellowshipping process with those videos. It still seems like the elders aren't getting how the org wants them to do it since they have yet another school with just about the same information. I'm glad I won't be going.

I used to beleive that crap too. But, then I read somewhere that we do use 100% of our brain but only like 10% at one time since our brain is like a database or computer. I mean a computer doesn't use all of it's memory at once or it will crash but you still use 100% of the computer. I wish I could remember where I read that. I hope I explained that correctly. If I'm wrong, point it out. Thanks.

They still believe the trumpets in Revelation are conventions in the 1920s. I had trouble with that one even when I was a fully committed believer.

The Watchtower - getting the science wrong for 100 years (at least)
by Saltheart Foamfollower indid anyone else spot this on the back page of the feb study watchtower (just finished it today).
there is a proud display of clips from the photo drama and they have selected one showing a "gigantosaurus - 160ft long- the largest animal known".
from what i've researched, no such dinosaur existed (though in 1914 they may have thought otherwise) most people know that the blue whale is the largest animal that has ever existed, so the question is; why did they choose this clip?

Yeah, I noticed that too. Sometimes things like this make me think there are closet apostates on the inside trying to get people to think and get out or keep people from ever joining.

So Spill the Beans, Brothers: Were There More or Fewer At this Year's Bore-Fest
by steve2 inthe jw date-worshipped memorial has just completed its bleak worldwide commemoration.
that wasn't a dust cloud you saw; it was a millionfold hearts limply beating themselves into another round of great tribulation expectations.
i was knocked into a deep, deep sleep by the imagined experience of being at several thousand consecutive kingdom halls as the platformed drones spat forth the predictable sludge that, once released, hits and stains white clothing and bleach is useless.. we know that memorial attendance worldwide has dipped for two consecutive years since 2011 when it reached a high of 19,374,737 and for the promised land, obama's usa, the all time memorial attendance high was also 2011 when it hit over 2.5million (2,563,518) but shrunk in shame back to 2,502,055 in 2012 and spluttered upwards a handful or two to 2,504,114 last year.. so, what was attendance at the date-obsessed bore-fest this year in your neck of the woods?

Yes, I've counted at meetings, assemblies, and Memorials before and yes it isn't as easy as it looks to count people since they are walking around, in the back, in the bathroom, etc. The numbers you see in Yearbooks are not that accurate. Also, I know several people that go to more than one Memorial, especially in the foreign language congs. Many people go to both English and whatever foreign language they are in. So, they get counted twice which inflates the numbers.

Wrong Memorial address
by A.proclaimer inbecause it was the memorial today (yesterday for some of you around the world), i remembered something that happened last year at my now current congregation.
it was around the time of the campaign where the invites were being released.
now keep in mind that this is a congregation that's in a foreign language and the people who speak this language are scattered all over the city so the territory is very large and takes time to cover.

Maybe it was an 'apostate' I thought holy spirit would keep stuff like that from happening.

Dressed for Failure--drab colors in dress code
by WTWizard ini noticed that, especially for men, that they are required to dress in drab colors for boasting sessions and in field circus.
men are supposed to wear dirty colored suits--dark gray, muddy brown, black, and off-shades of maroon, forest green, and navy/midnight blue seem to be most common.
they get hounded if they wear something in a "loud" color--meaning anything that is near one of the major points in the rainbow and near saturation (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or violet is most likely to result in a major hounding).

Good observation. It seems like we were always dressed to go to a funeral. And anytime a brother wore a suit that was out of the norm like more colorful or a different cut or different tie he was counseled and not given any privileges. Looking back, I should have noticed that we were really required to wear uniforms so that no one stood out. The org really does try to take the fun out of everything.
