even after a year of thought regarding religion, and inparticular the jw faith... i am still no further forward as to whether i should go for it.. i realise that practically everyone who reads this post will be anti-jw; but i appeal to your unbias/ neutral side... if thats possible.. both sides have their own point of view... both are very convincing; i am just not sure what will "clinch the deal".. all i know is that i cannot go on like this for much longer!.

I feel the biggest factor you must contemplate, is once you are in, and a baptised JW, and you decide to leave,you will be completely shunned, by any and all friends and family that are members of the JW's.

parents converted to dubdom 1954.. commenced door knocking 1956.. baptised yankee stadium assembly 1958.. running 3 bible studies 1965.. giving public talks in many different congregations 1966.. ministerial servant, 2 jobs, 1966.. disfellowshipped 1972.. learned, via friday on h20, that the faithful and discrete slave class is the term used for the 144, 000 on earth, 2002.. during my entire witness life, commencing in 1954, right though until 2002, a time span of 38 years, i had always thought that the faithful and discrete slave term applied to the watchtower bible and tract society.. either i wasn't a very good student who's heart was never in the ways of jw's, or i was just picking up the general gist of things, i have no idea.
but, how could i have remained so uninformed and so undetected for all of those years?.

I always thought the FDSC was the governing body in Bethel. It wasn't until I started doing research in the mid 90's that I realized it applied to the 144,000. Like they are consulted by the GB for direction. I can see it now. Brother so and so in so and so congregation who is of the annointed, sending a letter to the GB, telling them of a vision he received, or new light he discovered through God's holy spirit.....Yeah Right !

she has cats and when she lived in the south she would take them to the groomers and have what is called a line cut.
to her a line cut is when all of the fur hanging down below the cat's tummy is taken off (because it gets matted or snarled).. when she moved to chicago with my brother, one of the cats fur got all tangled up during the move so she took it in for a line cut.

SS. Yup I won't be surprised if Hillary Clinton makes a run for the presidency, but she dosen't have much time left to gear up for a campaign. She will probably wait until Bush's 2nd term is up.
However if Bush makes a 2nd term, I would not be surprised if he is successful in getting the Supreme Court to outlaw abortion. His appointment of Hager is just 1 of a number of steps, he is undertaking to acheive that.

first of all, i would like to state that there was surprisingly little growth under rutherford.
Thanks larc, for taking the time to put that into perspective. Sometimes when you see those year to year stats, you get a false representation of what is going on.
Not that the stats they publish are correct to begin with, spin doctors that they are !
