being disassociated carries with it many rewards - not being invited to the in-laws, not having bible bashers assaulting my privacy (but sometimes i do wish they would call to share some wholesome fellowship.
presently i am working on my apostate skills and feel that i am making some progress, but i do recall how much the brothers dreaded those persons reputedly of the (shudder) 'evil slave class'.
i haven't seen any mention of them on the board and wonder whether they still exist, and if they still manage to icite fear and trepidation in the joeys.. if so..... then i want to enlist - it must be the ultimate in achievement.. cheeses (of the evil slave class).

i need opinions from parents.
first, let me share my situation.
i am 24 years old and my husband is 33. we have been married two years and are thinking about having kids.
Hey SP Nice to know a little more about you.
I didn't read the rest of the replies ( except for Scully's )
Here is the my guy's opinion. CJ had her first when she was 21. Our second was born when she was 32, and our son at 34.
Though I had nothing to do with the " creation " of our first....( I adopted her, when CJ and I got married ) I always put CJ off when she talked about having more children. Then one day it happened, and I was so joyful, at having a baby, that I "tricked " CJ into having another.
It's been great, but trying. Having kids later in life is a lot more trying I think.....and I'm the dad, not the mom. We should be relaxing a bit more, and spending more time together. Instead we are thrust back into parenthood. Don't get me wrong here. We are enjoying it to the fullest, but after 18 years of marriage, I would like to spend more time with my soulmate. ( isn't that so 70ish )
My suggestion to anyone who is planning a lifetime together is...have them young, and then get them the hell out of the house.

THANK YOU BadJerry and Imanaliento.
That was so funny and so true. CJ and myself just want to throw up our hands sometimes and quit. But Hey. if god couldn't get it right......well there is hope for the rest of us.
this was a sign displayed in the workshop at ingleburn (aust) during construction of new printing facilities sometime in the 80's (if i recall correctly).
see what a sense of humor the loving brothers display.
i was privileged (read gullible) to volunteer (read conscripted) some time during construction.. cheeses was blessed (and blesses).
Thank Gawd. This is what this board needs after all that war crap the past 2 months. Cheeses Khrist... between you and Gitsangria........whatever, I don't know who makes me laugh the most. People at work stop by my office....and peek in and say.....what's so funny. Like they'd understand this.
Oh....BTW......Welcome to the board you sarcastic SOB.
today, i was passing by where she was buried.
i went back to the office and told them i couldn't find her.
she had been buried in 1996!!!!!!!!
Jess......Hugs to you. Very touching post.
I think every cong. in the world has 1 or 2 of those kindly women in them. Those who wanted children, and could not have them, either because it was frowned about at the time, or it was not physically possible.
There were 2 women in my old cong. like that. One had children, that had grown up and moved on ( not jw ), and the other who had children but she joined the cong. in later years, after she had raised her children " in the world ".
Both of these wonderful women loved the young ones. And it is a duplicate of what you referred to. Whether it was a candy, or a hello, and even a hug, you felt like they were grammas to you. I.... like you, looked forward going to the KH, if only for the sole purpose of seeing Sister so and so. And you know, you could just feel their love. IT WAS GENUINE !
Now I go to another point of your thread. To be buried, or cremated.
If this wonderful women had beeen cremated, and her ashes tossed to the wind, would you have a place to go to, and offer your thoughts.
The WBTS has always discouraged the " headstone " mentallity and I think a lot of us, have fallen into that line of thought. But you know what ? I have lost my grandparents, a brother, and friends, who have no marking on the earth they have left. I have always wanted to go their graves and mourn.
There is something very therapeautic in going to a gravesite, talking out loud, .......crying...and then going back to the " Living "

Just amazing, how a stupid joke thread, gets turned into a heated debate.
BTW I give Abaddon an A++ for his post, ( man that must have taken some time, and I thought I was bored ) , and I give myself a D - for even posting on this thread, but I'm suffering from insomnia, and ........
one of the things i hate in life is rude and disrespectful individuals.
it is my understanding that all opinions are welcome on this forum.
some, a few, seem to think their views and opinions is encased in gold.
LOL at dedalus.............you smart ass ! actually just envious you beat me to it !

well like i say, just got back from the memorial, have been going most years, but this year i went by chance (knew it was roughly at 7pm at the nearest kh) to my old congregation that i grew up in.
i didn't find the "evil" people spoke of here on this forum, or those too stupid to see.
all i did see was people i hadn't seen in years, and let me tell you, what lovely people they were.
Chuckling at wasasister's triple posts. You go girl....you'll make Jedi in no time at that rate !

Excuse us, Oh Haughty One !
i just phoned my daughter who is 23 years old, and she is graduating from college in toronto this june.
i thought because there were some great flight offers that i would be spontaneous and be there for her graduation and just do a mother daughter thing of celebrating.
well i just phoned her, to tell her that i would like to be there, and she hits me with the bombshell that my parents will be there and staying with her.
I too think CJ, should go, but I want her to be on the offensive, so I suggested, she break the icy impasse, and call her parents and see if she can hitch a ride with them to Toronto.
Her mum is not a frequent flyer, They know where we stand, but perhaps they can come around to just accepting that, and try to have a somewhat normal family relationship, even if it means they have to be secretive about it.
Thanks again
