  New Light on the United Nations (U.N.) (Scarlet Beast)

  there appears to be "new light" in the latest watchtower magazine (june 1st 2003 issue).

  several watchtower publications for the last 50+ years have said that the united nations (u.n.) organization ("the scarlet-colored wild beast" of revelation) would definitely be the organization that will carry out jehovah's judgment on "babylon the great" (false religion), and then, under satan's [gog of magog's] direction, the united nations organization would become "greedy", and try to attack the remaining remnant of the "anointed" jehovah's witnesses and their companions, the "great crowd" of "other sheep", and then jehovah and jesus would destroy the united nations organization, along with everyone else who was not a jehovah's witness.

  On page 2 of this thread you quoted from the Isaiah book, and there are 2 expressions that caught my eye, that I have highlighted in red

  Isaiah's Prophecy - Light For All Mankind Book, Volume 1 (2000), Pages 153-154:

  20 Whom will Jehovah use to discipline rebellious Christendom? We find the answer in the 17th chapter of Revelation. There we are introduced to a harlot, "Babylon the Great," representing all the world’s false religions, including Christendom. The harlot is riding a scarlet-colored wild beast that has seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:3, 5, 7-12) The wild beast represents the United Nations organization.* [FOOTNOTE SAYS: Additional information regarding the identity of the harlot and the scarlet-colored wild beast is found in chapters 34 and 35 of the book Revelation—Its Grand Climax At Hand!, published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc.] Just as the ancient Assyrian destroyed Samaria, the scarlet-colored wild beast "will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire."   7 How does Isaiah’s prophecy apply in our day? The spiritually sick nation of Israel can be compared to unfaithful Christendom. Just as Jehovah used Assyria as a "rod" to punish Israel, so he will use a "rod" to punish Christendom—as well as the rest of the world empire of false religion, "Babylon the Great." (Isaiah 10:5; Revelation 18:2-8) That "rod" will be member nations of the United Nations—an organization pictured in Revelation as a seven-headed, ten-horned, scarlet-colored wild beast.—Revelation 17:3, 15-17.

  Unfortunately I no longer have the publications to go back and research myself, but if the 1988 Revelation book contained little or no mention of the UN, and the quotes you provided from the 2000 Isaiah book mentions ' nations that are members of the UN ' could it be that as early as 1987 the GB 's hard line against the UN was going through a metamorphosis....... shifting suspicion from the UN to its member nations ?

  what did you do with all your old books and magazines from the watchtower?

  did you throw all of them away, or did you keep a few?.

  i still kept a few bibles and a couple of books.

  I got tired of the space they took up, and reorganizing them.....by size......by year......by colour.

  Kept some, that had the damning evidence in them, that I discovered they had changed in new reprints, or on the CDs.

  Anyone who has earlier publications, pre 1960 and older, I would suggest checking E-Bay. Many people who are doing research, want to see the evidence in the publication for themselves, not what someone may have scanned, or transcribed.

  I know I was like that, skeptical of what others were telling me until I got to see it with my own 2 eyes. You could even make a few bucks, though the rate of return, is poor.

  Did you ever sit back and think of all the money you wasted purchasing all that junk !

  Daddy long legs..a cruel and unusual punishment

  when i was a kid we used to catch daddy long legs and throw them into spiders webs on the trees outside...then when the spider had finished of the dllegs we would throw the spider into a bigger spiders web and watch them battle it out....sick huh, i kinda like these things now so couldnt hurt em but any insect that used to come into contact with us had a cruel existence.

  anyhow i just heard that the most poisonous insect of all insects is daddy long legs.

  just an interesting something that i thought i would share before i go a swatting .

  Isn't it amazing how when you were in the borg, you would read that, believe it, and give yourself a pat on the back, because you fit that description of a " charitable person "

  Now it nauseates you, and makes your blood boil.

  Good come back line to Big Tex.

  That picture with the caption " Our preaching the good news pleases god and opens the way to everlasting benefits " Is that women attempting to pay for food with the mags, kinda like a barter....you know physical food for spiritual food, or are they just going to use the mags to wrap the food in.

  Notice they show that scenario, in a foreign country, with an open market. Like to see jws try that at their local Safeway or A & P supermarket !

  Damn kids ... or am I getting old?

  we bought the "simpsons road rage" game a few months ago, mainly for the kids.. if they've been playing before they went to bed then me and angharad have had a few gos in the evening and have been competing for the high score.

  over the last few week, we've traded it and nudged it up until angharad reached an unattainable 9,100 points.

  eventually, after hours of dedicated thumb twiddling i managed to beat it with 9,300 and then push it out of rech with 11,300. i was the champion.

  Sounds like my son and the on line game Rune.

  It was all the rage for the past 2-3 months with him and his friends. Now he's progressed to the point where his buddies, are behind him, and he's grown tired of the game because there is no one to challenge him at his level.

  Name that dog?

  due to security issues in our neighborhood we are getting a big dog.

  we had a look at him tonight big siberian husky 8 months old and very big for a husky taller than i am when standing on his back legs more of a howler than a barker hope the neighbors dont complain.

  loves children but dont think he could eat a whole one probably spit that bit out anyway.

  When I was a kid there were these people who had a Husky / German Shepherd mix, who lived behind us, and his name alone, conveyed the fact to stay out of their yard. It was THOR. Worked for me anyways.

  I tried for a long time to get into a gang, and it is much easier to get into the jws, unless, you come from a gang !

  Gang members will betray even their own Mothers if their own Mothers threaten their existence as gang members.

  Gang members could betray their own mothers, I suppose.

  However blood is thicker than water, and the grey matter of a gang member, would still be affected by natural emotion.

  The souless jws have no such capacity to base their decisions. Their grey matter has been poisioned to the point, that coma is their middle name.

  How old was you when you learned to drive?

  i've never passed my test, never needed to because i lived near the city and could get from a to b at the drop of a hat.

  now living in a village it almost impossible to get anywhere so i am about to start taking lessons, at 39 i'm embarrassed and am dreading starting lessons.

  Thanks Brummie. I think I understand now. So you never got your driver's licence, because you never had to. But now you are in " the rurals " and you need to drive to go from A to B.

  Sorry, long day and brain fade.

  Definately, take driving lessons....just don't hire Mr Bean, nor James Bond for that matter.

  One word of advice.

  Always look 1 - 2 city blocks ahead while driving. In country driving that means,just keep looking at the middle of the road as it meets the horizon. and you will find that the vehicle will naturally centre itself.

  Oh.....and no looking at the birds.......ya know the Austin Power variety.....they can be very distracting.
