  honestly: i perceive a lot of jw-thinking in this forum, primarily from those of us who are exjw.. the us/them mentality.

  right/wrong, black/white, everything the wts said and did must be wrong.

  also, active jws that post here are typically characterized as idiots, or just plain ignored.. i've not come this far, just to fall back into the same judgmental attitudes in which i was raised.. don't take me wrong; i certainly believe in calling a spade a spade.

  Hmmmmm. A little different from your usual posts. Going through a little introspective moment now perhaps.

  Don't take me wrong; I certainly believe in calling a spade a spade. But do you think that sometimes we think we have a spade, when in fact all we have is a club?

  Good Point Sir. Easy to do, when you find out you've been betrayed, and lied to all these years.

  I think the newbies are more in tune to do that, and mellow out as time goes on. But there are others, myself included who are easily riled, and tend to lash out, with that 180 degrees mentality.

  Food for thought though....and thank you.

  most jws can't say "god bless you" or "bless you" when someone sneezes for fear of blessing someone with the wrong god.. now that you are out, do you have the nerve to say it?.

  If This Place Was A Congregation, Who Would Be The Elders, MS and CO's?

  i know some of you hate the idea of jwd being like a congregation but just for fun, let's imagine who would "serve" as the elders (presiding overseer, secretary, service overseer) etc.

  and what "privileges" you would be given.

  Yesterday was my B-day, feeling sorry for myself

  ok, so i'm feeling a little sorry for myself.

  pity party happening here.. so yesterday was my birthday, and until i went to work at 4 pm, not a single birthday wish came my way ( actually, i did get a couple birthday wishes from web sites i had joined, lol ).

  most of my family is jw.

  It so happens, that is also Mothers Day, and to top it all off, Monday is her xxth Birthday.

  I'm curious to get people's opinions re: 3 gifts, or 1 big gift, or any other suggestions.

  I'm especially interested to hear from those of you who fall into similar circumstances, ie Birthday at Christmas etc.

  i just can't calm down god i hope i can present it.

  Good Luck Sheila.

  Sentinal has some very good advice there.

  A relaxed and friendly speaker makes the audience feel a part of the event.

  The anger you felt in composing your speech, should not overflow into your delivery. When that happens, people may tend to feel uncomfortable, and label you as " disgruntled " ( sorry, Society term ). Which of course you are and should be, but try not to let that impede the message you are trying to convey.

  my younger son and i decided to go for a walk this afternoon and, as always, we had to pass the house of an elder, which is on the corner of our cul-de-sac.

  occasionally, i'd bump into the elder's wife and she say a nervous "hello!

  but not today!!

  Welcome to the club. You should have jumped the fence, and struck up a conversation with her. You know....use the jw training you received. Comment on how nice her garden is, and well groomed her yard is.
