by Stand for Pure Worship inexcellent material can be found within the reasoning book, page 328, para.2, 3. occasionally, i see posters make presumptuous comments like, "all you need is the bible", or, "i'm born-again, so there's no need for spiritual assistance from another christian", or,"i'm saved", or my favorite, "jesus talks to me directly.
" on one hand, i can't be overly critical of such ones because they do attempt to read and understand the bible on their own.
(acts 17:11) not to mention they're generally peaceable folks, just self-misguided when erroneously believing that they can go it alone.

I have learned many good reasons and seen the evidence to believe that the human to tendency to believe in woo is what provides the foundation for JWs, Scientologists, Mormons, Jim Jones, Strong Town, Waco, Moonies, etc, etc, etc.
Some of you may see a huge difference between a liberal Christian and JWs, I see very little. I can make a list for you, if you wish.

Early whale ancestors had hooves?
by hamsterbait ini have been online looking for actual images of the hoofed toes of early whales.. there is no lack of articles that say "such and such" had hooves on their toes, like their land dwelling ancestors.. i want images pictures of the relevant fossils.. all these references to hooves alone is like the self referencing of the wt with no actual tangible proof.. i am sick to death of looking at drawings that dont really prove anything....

Thanks for the links everyone. I had heard about this part of the evolutionary chain, but hadn't researched it. This is really amazing. Going from land back to sea is really is a mind trip when you think about it.
The abundance of food in the oceans, especially before modern fishing, must have played the biggest role in why these animals kept getting better adapted at living in the water.

FS Visit Today
by Joe Grundy injust received a fs visit - first for several months.
an attractive 'yummy mummy' with (what seemed to me) a strained smile and a very young girl (presumably her daughter) about 9 or 10.. the weather was attrocious, i was distracted, and i failed completely to make any comment or to challenge.
looking at the young girl, particularly, i felt nothing but sympathy.. i accepted a leaflet 'can the dead really live again?

The existence of something like down syndrome is actually proof that the God of the Bible (omniscient, omnibenevolent) doesn't exist. But believers are wonderful excuse makers and spin doctors, so this is not proof for them. But it is one of a thousand, rock solid pieces of evidence for me.
But really, Can you prove that I do not have a 1 inch tall, invisible dragon in my garage?
