It already got resurrected, sorry.
What do you mean by guidance? Another process not yet defined? Aliens? Yahweh?
your qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.

Science IMO does not have all the answers. When I discover gaps in science, it's easy for me, as a temporary measure to fill in the gaps with God. I do this until I have learnt something new.
What about you? Do you believe in the god-of-the-gaps? If so, why? If not, why not?

Kate, you should stay away from Cofty's wheelhouse. That's how I roll, and have done well doing so.
"it was so beautiful, we are truly blessed!
now, they also plaster these affirmations all over social media, "this is the best life", “so blessed”, “best convention”.. why the gushing?
have you ever heard anyone say, “mmmm it was ok”?
The RC is the biggest event of the year, so it HAS to be their favorite. That's more reason to feel all gushy about a horrible 3 days of drivel.
so again we go to the quality of evidence used by the wt.. you can read the article here - https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/awake-no5-2016-october/did-jesus-really-exist/.
you see the wt refer to experts with quotes.
as is usually the case the credentials are not represented, just that they are experts (so take their word).
JW publication writers are torn between having evidence settle a matter vs. having the GB vote on it on Wednesday morning.
What's a cult member to do?
Music industry. Congrats on that. Welcome back.
so real quick, i know this comes up now and then and i've looked over some of the posts from the past but here's the thing.. when i was a jw i drank all the cool aid, i was 100% and so i have all my own arguments (from the jw's) for why the bible is inspired.
i no longer believe this but i'd really like to read something that is pretty much 100% academic on this subject.
i want to read what scholars have to say about the authenticity of the bible and it's claim at being the inspired word of god.
Where did Abraham get his Ishmael?
This "friend of god" (you know, it was imputed up unto upon him as righteousness) boned a slave, that's how.

Just an FYI, carm.org (referenced by Perry) is owned by Matt Slick. His daughter came out as atheist a few years ago. You can Youtube Matt Dillahunty vs Matt Slick and see what a moron Slick is.
Did you notice Perry's use of the phrase "the claims of skeptics"? As if what is being stated in this thread are just "claims" that are easily debunked. What Perry should have said, if he were intellectually honest, is that these sites have created apologetics for the many problems bibles have. Apologetics are many times, at their foundation, just baseless assertions made by fundamentalists that are desperate to square their beliefs with reality.
Carm.org, Fox news, Watchtower, they should all go bowling together.

2nd John 12,13
12 I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.
13 The children of your sister, who is chosen by God, send their greetings.
When you read these verses, do they sound like the words of the Creator of the universe, or do they sound like some religious dude writing just another letter. Obviously the writer of these passages wasn't worried about transmitting God given messages in his head to other humans.
so if the idea is promoted that god doesn't want anyone to be destroyed, why does he make it so confusing for people to learn about him?.
why are there thousands of differing religions?.
why has "his only true organisation" even taught so many varying doctrines?.
That's right Perry, humans die, animals die and stars die. I guess stars and animals are separated from God because of Eve. Makes perfect sense right?
Oops, Satan doesn't die. I guess he isn't separated from God like the rest of us. And sorry Perry, his being killed by Yahweh eventually doesn't mean he dies like we do. And you know it.
Satan can be the cause of death and get millenniums of years to live; I inherit death from Eve and I get 70 years. Makes perfect sense doesn't it?
But I'm guessing the Christian mental masturbation will continue.
