  Generation of 1914 enjoys another Cubs World Series win!

  for the first time in 108 years, the chicago cubs won the mlb 2016 world series, which is not news to too many of us.

  but the volunteers at warwick bethel have an interesting opportunity today.

  they can congratulate tony morris on seeing another chicago cub win.

  For the first time in 108 years, the Chicago Cubs won the MLB 2016 World Series, which is not news to too many of us. But the volunteers at Warwick Bethel have an interesting opportunity today. They can congratulate Tony Morris on seeing another Chicago Cub win. He is of the generation of 1914, along with most, if not the rest, of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  While Tony didn't get to see the last WS victory for the Cubbies with his own eyes (1908), he "kinda?" did. Since he is of the second overlapping "group" of the generation of the Jehovah's Witness anointed of 1914, (did I digress? oh no that's what they teach) that means HIS GENERATION was around to see there previous WS win!
  

  So let's all congratulate the Governing Body, perhaps they thought their generation would never see another Cubs win, since it's been 108 years since last happened, but IT DID!!! Congrats to them! High fives all around!

  several years ago, i was introduced to a "wonderful" company called fortune hi tech marketing by a brother and his wife.

  they had been introduced by a former sheriff who claims he had researched the company and found no leins or judgments, and that former sheriff had been brought in by a pastor.

  you can read what happened with fhtm on wikipedia if you so desire.. this whole new idea of multilevel marketing had my brain reeling, though, and soon enough, i actually signed up with none other than prepaid legal.

  Just got hit up to buy electricity from an ACN MLMer two weeks ago. Her sales strategy was the classic dishonest MLMer style. She asked to see one of my bills, said she could save me money, she gave me a quote. It was for a three year contract with a $350.00 early termination fee. I was "month to month" with my provider at the time. I looked on my provider's website and signed up for a one year contract that was 20 percent cheaper than what she offered. Did she lie? No. Was she being selfishly dishonest knowing full well that she wasn't comparing oranges to oranges? Hell yes.

  MLM products and services, an uneducated consumer is their best customer.

  But mostly I do hate the culty culture and tactics that perhaps all MLMs use in recruiting victims. "It looks like a church because we are dealing with groups of people." LOL and ROFL Someone needs some better apologetics for their business cult.

  What Were Your Elders Real World Jobs?

  we all know that education is severely demonized in this religion.

  and that the elders are appointed based on how many meetings they attend, hours they put in on the ministry and general attitude to other elders (as apposed to, you know, actual theological training and counseling) - so my question is, what were your elders occupations outside the kingdom hall?.

  Some recent baptism figures in the UK - is there a "bounce back"?

  well, round my way (south of the uk) all the way up to and including the regional conventions this summer, baptism numbers have been extremely low.

  but i have just received news of three recent circuit assembly days where the figures seem to be higher.

  (all have been across the last three weekends at a uk assembly hall in october).

  Memorial Attendances This Year

  have attendance figures at this year's memorial been released yet, including number of partakers?

  sometimes the kingdom ministry (now called christian life and ministry) provided local figures say for the country.. for two to three years the worldwide figure has hovered around the 19 plus million, with a drop off in attendance last year.. just wondered if there has been any change this year or if the downward trend has continued?
