Actually I think that there is sort of a scheme behind why some JWs involve themselves in the type business that they do. Not that I particularly condemn the idea, but I've known three different Witnesses who cater to the material whims of the world by dealing in selling those things called Travel Trailers. You know, recreational vehicles ... RVs.

I guess it must go something like this:

Okay "world", you want material things rather than spiritual things, I don't mind providing you with an avenue to satisfy your ever-loving, God-ignoring desires. I may as well be enriched by your mundane pleasures as any other salesman, since you've just gotta place so much emphasis on pleasure and the like. Trailer for sale or rent! Financing on the spot ... come and get them while their hot ... before you're NOT! Get your RV TODAY! Eat, drink, leave me your money, then be on your debauched way. Come play AND pay! Play now, pay LATER (if you know what I mean, he he he)! Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to the bank I go ... a dollar here, a dollar there, apostate's square, like Jo-el-bear. Hi ho ... hi ho ... hi ho, hi HO!

Some of 'em just sell cubby houses, same as others sell RVs. A pleasure seeking sucker is a pleasure seeking sucker, no matter whether they want an RV for themselves and their family, or simply a cubby house for their chillin. Since most aren't really interested in God and the Bible, then supply 'em with what DOES tickle their fancy ... and make money doing it. Sell PLEASURE, that's it ... since it's in great demand. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW! I think it's ironic, as well as being quite appropriate and shrewd to do.

is it just me or does this strangely popular bible add a bit to the word?

here's a 2 small examples.. 2 peter 2:9 - if this is so, then the lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.(niv).

2 peter 2:9 - then the lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, (rsv).

Let me just say, as a christian, I find the arguements....

YOU? "A Christian"??? First you don't even have enough respect for the word Christian so as to capitalize it, and then, by saying in your "signature" that he was a "drunk", you show disrespect for one of the Bible's characters whom for a solid 500 years even before the Flood "walked with God", whom the Bible itself said was a "righteous man" and "proved himself faultless among his contemporaries".

Like I said: "YOU? A Christian???" Would you like to hear what I would call you? Hint: It doesn't start with the letter "C"!

Which major country of JW"s will fall first?

there has been major declines in european countries.. will one of these be the first to have a catastrophic decline.. i predict britian and france falling quickly maybe under 100,000 in a year or two.. when one country fall significantly say britian going under 100,000 will this set off bigger falls here and else where when people start to jump the sinking ship?

Whats the funniest thing a postmans been chased by?

I'm real disappointed that you didn't see any humor in my story about being chased by the "little monster", OUTLAW. LOL.

I guess in my own case it was being chased by my own conscience. LOL. There was this one time I broke the side-mirror out of my Postal three-wheeler ... when I threw a huge rock at a hound that'd just took a nip at me and then tried to run away. I threw that blamed rock harder than I’d ever thrown anything in my life (thinking "Kill! Kill!" as I let loose of it, LOL.), not realizing that the rather large side-mirror was in my line of throw. Glass went everywhere of course, and my face turned red as a beet as I slithered into my mail vehicle and hurriedly drove on over to my next loop a block away.

Fortunate for me, upon finishing my route I stopped by a former schoolmate's glass shop and he replaced the mirror for me free so that I wouldn't have to report my "crime" to my supervisor. LOL. Unless one of my customers observed what happened, I guess that only he and I ever knew what I had done ... cause I never told NOBODY!!! LOL.

Why is a roadside mailbox sitting inside the fence, halfway to the house?

Actually that’s something not entirely unheard of, COMF. But first, I’m surprised that you failed to notice that there’s as much as two things wrong with the FLAG. Not only is it on the wrong side of the box but it’s turned backwards itself. LOL.

Why do a few people want rural-type mailboxes up inside their fenced yards?

I’ve seen a few instances of this over the years. AND, there are also those who, although they don’t get curb-side delivery, yet they still install a curb-side box. I think that in both cases there is a common reason for doing it that way. Although I’ve never inquired as to the specific purpose for such a box being placed in the yard, I always figured it was for more privacy. I think that some people really do object to having others being at their front door almost every day of the year, even if it is for just a few brief seconds each time. And so if the mailbox is placed out in the front yard, it’s only on rare occasions then that such a homeowner’s privacy is jeopardized … which is when mail delivery personnel approach within hearing distance of the thin walls of the house. Don’t forget either that those type boxes are lockable … which adds a bit more security than the usual box placed on the wall of the house. This type box, even though it’s right next to the front door, doesn’t offer the same security for the more important mail that people receive, as does the lockable rural-type. Of course there has to be a slot for the mail to go through, and most mail carriers hate having to feed mail into such narrow openings.

Other reasons as to why some postal patrons, although not receiving curb service, will place their mailbox out on the curb anyway is that they simply have compassion for their mailman. They see him trudging through the snow in wintertime, etc., and wish to make life more bearable by saving him the extra steps it would take to bring the mail on up to the porch. The sad part of it all, and something which most people don’t know about, is that for every step the public might wish to save their favorite mail carrier from having to take, that carrier’s supervisor is determined to merely add it right back on to him by way of extending his route … giving him MORE territory to cover. Nice world ("system")!

Shooting.....Factory in Goshen, Indiana

its not too often that this magnitude of a tragedy hits our small neck of the woods, but this one is big.

apparently a disgruntled employee burst into a factory (nu wood), and shot around 35 employees......no details on the shooter yet, or the casulties.

the factory is located in goshen, which is about 10 miles from my office here in elkhart, indiana.

Bless your heart for taking that little kitten in.

I wish that pets didn't come so cheap for SOME people. I've observed a lot of abuse of animals simply because they were acquired free. If they all had to at least be purchased then they would likely either not be wanted in the first place, or taken better care of. I mean, some people only appreciate things if they've had to part with their hard-earned money to have them.

There was this one time when I had grown really, really tired of being aggravated by a patron's dog on one of the mail routes which I carried. Every day, day-in and day-out, the little bugger gave me fits nipping at my heals. It was such a small dog that I would've been embarrassed to report it and get it taken care of that way. Well the day finally came when we mail carriers were authorized for the first time to carry "mace" along with us as we delivered the mail, for our protection against vicious animals.

This little monster happened to slip up and get between me and the owner's house, right in a corner underneath the mailbox on the porch ... and without giving it a second thought I UNLOADED ON THE LITTLE RASCAL. I mean I dowsed that little critter good ... thinking I may never get as good a chance again to teach this pup a lesson he'll never forget, hoping that'll be the end of it all.

Well the ole man comes home from work later that evening (before I'm off work myself, mind you), leans back in his recliner to enjoy that day's newspaper ... his mace-laden pup jumps up on his lap wanting some sympathy/affection ... the ole man gives his pup a REAL good petting ... gets the mace all over his hands ... then rubs his own eyes with his hands. No need to say what that resulted in.

When I get back into the office I find out that I've been reported to my supervisor. I asked, "How did the guy know that it was me?" "Well it was all that mace that you painted the dog AND the house with. That's how!" Hadn't actually realized I'd gotten quite so carried away I guess.

Sure 'nuff, the next day the ole man tells me: "Shame, shame on you for picking on such a little dog!" It was then that I realized that I might just as well have reported the little monster in the beginning, since I wound up being embarrassed and shamed afterall. But I NEVER did have anymore trouble outta THAT dog. LOL!

Uh, Ranchette ... I'm glad that you enjoyed my illustration, but I never said that was MY puppy. As a matter of fact if you go back and read a little closer you'll notice that I said: "My puppy, Friday, has NEVER gotten HIMSELF into this type of a situation!"

Perhaps for your sake it would have been better worded this way: "Unlike numberless other mutts that I've known in my 30-plus years with the Postal Service, my puppy Friday has NEVER gotten HIMSELF into a situation like this one did."

Actually, the drawing is one that I've had in my filing cabinet for probably close to 20 years now. I decided to scan it and upload it to my personal web site today, onto my "Humor" page. I picked it up one day at the facility I worked at. I think maybe one of the fellas I worked with drew it, I can't remember for sure now. The president of the Union there at the time was quite a cartoonist, very good with a pencil and a piece of paper ... so I tend to think that he drew it. Anyway, in my days as a mail carrier I've seen many a dog that needed such a stuffin' as that one in the illustration got. LOL.
