  WHY is this such a big story? The US Military was all over this LONG before the press picked it up. Chalk it up to the leftist slant of the major news outlets. On the other hand, why so little coverage of a much bigger scandal, the UN Oil for food scandal, where world security came down to a few bribes by Saddam with money that was suppossed to buy food for the Iraqi people that no one really seems to have cared about except when they could quote (from an Iraqi source) the supposed number of dead children because of the "embargo" Why not more coverage of the US and Iraqi police raiding Chalabi's house and discovering the Intel he turned over to Iran? For that matter why not the coverage of all the hospitals, schools, and houses the US forces have refurbished?

  i downloaded the beheading of nicholas berg and watched the video over and over.

  my opinion is that the video was edited to the max and berg was already dead when they cut his head off.

  no blood, no convulsions.

  Of course it can't be a REAL video, your friends the Radical Muslim Terrorists would NEVER do such a thing. Let's face it, the video is grainy enough it's really hard to tell WHAT the blood is doing, it might have been shooting straight down, Nick might have been so drugged up that his heart wasn't pumping hard enough to create a squirt, etc etc etc. The biggest reason to believe the video is what it says it is, is because the people who are blamed for his death said they did it.

  What exactly is your hard evidence that there were NOT gunmen in the crowd? Is it that the terrorists in the Mandate Territories have never used civilian shields before?   Brummie, they're playing them here in the states, too. I'm heart sick about it all, and angry. The USA purports to be morally above this sort of thing, at least, their leaders try to run that game on the rest of the world, yet, this shows the lie to that image. There are NO excuses for this behavior, by anyone, and I'm sickened by the whole thing

  just in case any of you history or legal buffs aren't already aware of it, the white night riots occurred 25 years ago today, may 21, 1979. the riots occurred when dan white's legal team was successful in using the "twinkie defense" to acquit him of the premeditated murders of mayor moscone and city supervisor milk.

  the argument was that dan white ate too many twinkies.

  it was his sugar laden diet that caused him to enter city hall through a window with a gun, go up to the mayor's office, kill him, and then go to milk's office and kill him too.

  going back to the pre-war rhetoric it seemed to me that even the german and russian intelligence along with the english and american intelligence and previous inspectors all agreed that sadam had left over (and possibly made more) chemical wmd.

  proof seemed to be provided about what they *knew* he had at *some point* and it couldn't be accounted for.. it seems obvious now that sadam did, in fact, destroy it long ago.. my question - why didn't he just prove it to the inspectors?

  why not avoid all of this if he could?
