When Bush addressed a fundraiser with "This is an impressive crowd...the haves, and the have mores. Some people would call you the elite...I call you my base.", it made it very clear that he does not represent me at all. He's for the rich, and the rest of us can go to h*ll.

Do you have ANY idea about the context in which this occured? Here it is, the date, October, 2000, the setting, a fund raiser..>FOR A CHARITY, not his campaign. Other notable attendees...AL GORE his opponent in the race for president of the United States. He and Al made jokes about each other and themselves...it was done as self depricating humor, and laughed at by EVERYONE WHO WAS FREAKIN THERE...and the press LOVED it.

Jesus H. Christ get a freakin clue and stop repeating stories you hear misreported by Michael Moore.

To clear up another issue, Kerry seems to think that the anger expressed by Whoopi and others that night represent America...and that the values expressed there were conservative American values.

it was amazing...................very compelling, and thought provoking.. one of the most upsetting things was towards the end when he revealed that of all 96 (not sure of that number) members of congress (senate and house) only 1 member had a child in the military, actively serving.

How exactly is that, is it the booming economy that troubles you...the jobs being created in the aftermath of the worst hit our economy took since the Great Depression...what exactly is it you object to...his standing his ground in the face of terror...yep Kerry's higher taxes...that will help.

Anyway, its too bad Moore did so much deceptive editing. I think aside from that his message is right on the mark.

From what I can tell his message is that he hates America...or am I missing something.

I didn't know the truth was insignificant. What has been pointed out by me and others go to the heart of the matter.

Go drink some moore koolaid or something. In every single discussion of Michael Moore on this board it's been demonstrated time and time again that he's lied, twisted the truth, misdirected...Simon, it's what he does.

He blames Bush for allowing the Bin Laden family out of the US...however, if you investigate, you find it was Richard Clarke who made that decision...and that it was AFTER limited commercial flights had been restarted.

He claims that Gore won the election...but every single recount, even the ones conducted by liberal news papers, show that BUSH WON FLORIDA and the election, by all acceptable measure for counting votes.

He shows Bush making the comment about the "haves and havemores" WAY OUT OF CONTEXT. It was a fund raiser for a political charity in OCTOBER of 2000 attended by both he and Al Gore and it was a JOKE as he and Al Gore poked fun at themselves and each other that evening to raise money for charity.

He shows scenes of dead Iraqi kids and then US soldiers high fiving each other, but the scenes are in no way connected to each other.

He ignores most of the grieving mothers and spouses who are proud of what their children and spouses have done...and he ignores that most of the soldiers over ther know who and what they're fighting for and are proud of it.

He pulls his little stunt that we're discussing here...

Simon, the guy wouldn't know the truth if it came to him in a Krispy Kreme donut...so don't start talking about the conservatives "nip picking"...it's been shown time and again the guys an Fing liar...and YOU are starting to look ridiculous in your support of the fat slob.

I was usually the bad date, so I won't tell on myself. My worst date...probably the one that hurt my feelings the most.

Mary, I went to school with Mary my whole life. Cute little blond thing. We never hooked up in school, though we had a mutual crush on each other. Then I was married, then she was married. It always seemed when one of us was free, the other was with someone. Anyhow...about 12 years after High School I get a call from Mary...she's divorcing her hubbie...I'm divorced...we chat on the phone for a month (not a month straight, but like every night for a month). We finally decide to date....since I've bragged about my cooking...when I suggest dinner, she suggests I cook a meal for us. COOL. She suggests visiting a club a few towns over after dinner...great. She arrives for the date...we eat...candle light...grilled lemon chicken, fettucinne...a nice wine. She indicates she's not all that interested in going out...we quickly find the bedroom. I start my foreplay routine, which involves a lot of tongue action in the nether region, but she tells me she wants it hard and fast. Being a gentleman, I oblige. When it's over she gets dressed and goes home.

I call her the next day and she explains she and hubbie are getting back together...please don't ever call again. Turns out she was never really getting a divorce...she found out her hubby was cheating so as revenge she brought him home a used sloppy taco...I had been used...led along...she knew I had feelings for her...the biotch. I feel sorry for her husband getting my sloppy seconds.

Today was a wonderful day ...NOT !

since then i have : publicly (to all who know/knew me) told them that i am not a jw anymore.told all my relatives (jw's)told all old jw buddies written to the service desk and told them why i don't want a subscription to their trash maglet the local elders know i never want a call or visit again..and supplied them with a fine amount of apostate literature.told the local elders to put a warning on the territory card of my street saying i don't want any visits ,literature etcsmoke in publicgamble in publicbecome very patriotic and vote...in public.

however to this day i am confused as to why....... they keep stuffing my mailbox with watchtowers and awakes.. today i recieved no less than 10 magazines forced and torn through the narrow slot of my mailbox.. i ask ...are they dumb and dumber thinking that 1 in a million chances of me returning....is still a chance ?.

tomorrow i will return the favour.

In the US only posted mail can be placed in one's mail box. If you are in the US and these magazines are not posted then it can be a federal offence to anyone sticking them in you box.

Yeppers, find out who is doing it, MAKE SURE YOU SEND THEM LITERATURE...and go to the post office with their name...get it video taped if possible...

if you're not feeling like getting that boisterous about it...just tell the elders that A) you don't want it, B) that it's against the law to be put in your mail box and you'll call the law the next time it happens, C) that it makes handy toilet paper when you don't have any...which is the best use you've EVER had for their rag.

They won't release video of the whole affair, because it would reveal just what Kerry and Edwards were supporting that night. IMO, presidental candidates should distance themselves from this garbage--not be involved in the middle of it. C'mon guys, let's raise the bar, not lower it!

You act as if he knew what she was going to say before she said it. It isn't as if Kerry told her what to say.
I wish I would have heard what she said because if it was funny, I damn sure would have laughed. Even had it been a joke about Kerry.

Where KERRY is wrong in all this is not distancing himself from these comments. Instead, he got up and said this anger represented "America" (It doesn't) and that American values were represented by all those entertainers (they weren't)...or, if those are the values Kerry has...do your want him as President?

VOLUNTEERED to protect and serve their country, not to be lied to and sent in to combat and killed and wounded for something that was not an immediate threat. I think I'd be pretty pissed too if I found out my president risked my life and allowed teh lives of my friends to be taken over faulty information.
